January 30, 2025
As part of our 30 Years of Excellence celebration, we are thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new initiative here at PCK: the creation of our very own Alumni Network.
At PCK, we are committed not only to academic excellence but also to fostering strong character and professional growth. We recognize the immense value of staying connected with our graduates and celebrating the incredible journeys they embark on after leaving our school.
This network is open to alumni of all ages—whether you attended PCK in its inaugural year of 1994, or graduated just last year, we want to hear from you. We encourage our current families to disseminate this information to any alumni they may know and invite them to participate in this effort.
Our alumni are living proof that the foundation built here leads to meaningful, lasting success. We invite all of our alumni and their families to be part of this exciting initiative by completing the brief form below. We look forward to hearing from and celebrating the remarkable achievements of our PCK community, no matter when they walked through our doors.
Hello PCK Families,
We are currently in the midst of getting whiplash from Colorado weather! I know I personally love it when I have to wear three layers for morning drop off followed by my short sleeves for pick up.
I wanted to encourage you to let your kids know if they ever want to talk to me about a situation or incident, they can always come see me at my office. If I’m not in my office, they can check with Mrs. Amick at the front desk and she can get ahold of me or get me a message to speak with your child later. I want kids to know they can come to me with any concerns and I will work through how to handle it with them and if it’s not something I’m able to address, I will be sure to get the right person involved.
This also goes for you as parents and families. If you would ever like to speak with me, you can call the school and the main office will get you in touch with me. If you are at the school and would like a sit down with me, you can also ask Mrs. Amick. If I’m not able to meet with you at that moment, I will reach out to you as quickly as I can to schedule.
I’m including both my school and DCSO emails if you have any questions:
Stay healthy, happy, and safe,
Deputy Sandifer
Our National Junior Honors Society (NJHS) students have reintroduced Homework Help for PCK students. This is a wonderful opportunity for your student to receive one-on-one assistance from a member of NJHS. Homework Help will be held in Mr. Robbins' classroom (Room 203) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:10–3:45 p.m. Each session will cost $10, with all proceeds going toward NJHS dues and funding important initiatives for the honor society.
Questions about placement or registration should be directed to Mr. Robbins via email at drobbins@ckcs.net.
Parent Teacher Conferences will take place on Wednesday, February 12, and Thursday, February 13. Due to these conferences, we will have an early release on both days, with carpool starting at 12:10, 12:20, and 12:30.

We encourage you to sign up quickly, as conference slots tend to fill up fast!
Students will have the opportunity to dive into the world of writing in a fun and a supportive environment with our new Creative Writing Club. Starting on Thursday, February 6, and continuing each Thursday until March 13, students will have the opportunity to dive into the world of writing in a fun, supportive environment. This club is exclusively for fourth and fifth grade students.
Creative writing is an important part of a child’s development. Not only does it enhance academic skills such as vocabulary, grammar, and organization, but it also nurtures a child’s imagination and creativity.
Through writing, students explore new worlds, develop unique characters, and express their thoughts and feelings in meaningful ways. These experiences foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while also encouraging self-expression and confidence.
Our tech department has an amazing opportunity for our third and fourth grade girls: Girls Who Code, an after-school program designed to introduce students to the world of computer science. Our tech department is eager to offer extra learning opportunities for students to explore the exciting world of technology, and is offering their very first Tech Camp.
Tech Camp will meet in the Lunchroom taking place on Wednesday, February 12, from 12:05 to 3:10 p.m., and is open exclusively to students in second, third, and fourth grades. During the camp, students will have the chance to dive into several fun and engaging activities, including:

The cost for participation is $50 per student. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to explore technology in a creative and interactive setting, and we hope to see many students take advantage of this experience. Please note that spaces are limited.
Our Valentine’s Day class parties are just around the corner and will be taking place on Tuesday, February 11 from 2:00-2:45 p.m. As part of the festivities, it will also be a Valentine’s themed dress down day for all students. During this dress down day students are encouraged to wear attire that fits the theme of the day.
We love having parents involved in our classroom activities and appreciate your support. However, due to limited parking and classroom space, we are unable to accommodate additional guests who are not volunteering for the party. We hope you understand and we’re grateful for your help in making our classroom events run smoothly.
Be on the lookout for further communication from your child’s classroom coordinator regarding specific party needs and volunteer opportunities.
We wanted to take a moment to remind our families that there are still available slots to rent the PCK Spirit Rock. This is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate a special occasion or send a message of support, while also helping fund our eighth grade class' graduation later this year.
All proceeds from the Spirit Rock rentals will directly benefit the eighth grade graduation, helping create a memorable celebration for our students.
If you’re interested in renting the Spirit Rock, please click the button below to secure your spot.
We are excited to announce that our Every Child is an Artist Art Show will be returning to PCK this February. The show will be held on February 12-13, and we encourage all families to visit and experience the amazing artwork created by our students.
If you're attending our Parent-Teacher Conferences during these dates, we invite you to take a moment to explore the art on display throughout the school. Ballots will be available for families to cast their votes for their favorite pieces by grade level. The piece receiving the most votes will receive an award for Best in Show.
Just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, January 31, is our Retro Dress Down Day. Students are invited to dress in outfits inspired by their favorite decade. Whether you're into the groovy '70s, the neon '80s, the grunge '90s, or the tech-savvy 2000s, it's your chance to show off your retro style.
Please remember to follow the PCK Dress Code on Dress Down days. These choice dress days are a privilege and should be treated as such. Cleanliness, modesty, and neatness in appearance are important at all times.
Thank you to everyone who attended this week’s Coffee With the Director event where we highlighted our Student Services team. This combined camp will be a wonderful opportunity for our athletes to work together, enhancing their skills in a collaborative environment. Both the Boys and Girls Basketball teams will join forces to provide campers with personalized coaching, engaging games, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of PCK Athletics. We believe this combined approach will offer a unique and enriching experience for all involved.

The Foundation continues to seek responses for an important survey about the upcoming PCK Gala, which will raise funds to enhance resources for our students and community. Your support is essential to its success.
Whether through donations, sponsorships, volunteering, or connecting us with potential sponsors, your involvement will make this Gala unforgettable. The survey aims to identify sponsors and gather volunteers for key roles like marketing, communications, decorating, and photography.
On behalf of the entire team, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for attending our recent Glo Bingo event. It was wonderful to see so many families come together, enjoying the evening while simultaneously strengthening the bonds that make PCK such a special place.
A huge thank you also goes to our dedicated volunteers—without your support and effort, this event wouldn’t have been such a success. Your time, enthusiasm, and teamwork made all the difference, and we are incredibly grateful for each one of you.
It fills us with pride to witness our school community growing through events like these. The connections we build outside the classroom help create an even stronger, more vibrant environment for our children to thrive in. We are truly fortunate to have such a caring, involved group of families that make PCK the amazing place it is.
Don't forget that later tonight we will be hosting our monthly Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A!
The next SAC meeting is set for Wednesday, February 12 at 8:15 a.m. We welcome your participation and input as we strive to enhance our school community.

This week, we want to take a moment to shine our Volunteer Spotlight on Mic Pettinato for her incredible work supporting our staff. Mic consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that PCK staff are well taken care of, and her dedication does not go unnoticed. Her positive attitude and thoughtful actions make a meaningful impact, and you can often find members of our front office staff grinning, thanks to her support.
Mic, thank you for being such a bright and uplifting part of our PCK family. We are so grateful for everything you do.
