The circulatory system of a perch contains a heart that has one atrium and one ventricle. Deoxygenated blood is pumped through the heart to the gills. It is then oxygenated and sent back through the body of the fish.

A few fun facts about the perch include:
-Perch can reach a maximum size of 18 inches.
-Perch are known to live as long as 13 years.
-Males reach sexual maturity between ages 1 and 3.
-Perch fish is consumed all over the world and it generates substantial commercial income from fish farming
