Principal's Message...
This week is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week. Big thank you to our PTA for spearheading this year's celebrations. We've got a fun theme for each day of the week and we are excited to be able to celebrate our awesome staff. We are so unbelievably blessed to have such a dedicated, talented, and hard-working staff. Please join us in celebrating them this week.
- Monday: Bagels will be delivered to both campuses
- Tuesday: Treats Day (Gift your teacher/staff support with a yummy treat)
- Wednesday: Nothin' Bun't Wednesday (Teachers will receive Bundt Cakes)
- Thursday: Bitter Sweet (Staff will receive sweet and salty treats)
- Friday: Suprise Luncheon by Rutabergorz for all staff

Spirit Days: To bring some additional excitement to the final weeks of school, there will be different spirit days each Wednesday. 5/8 will kick things off by wearing your favorite color day in Mrs. McCourtney's room Wear Your Pajamas and bring a stuffed toy to Mrs. Maeda's room.
Library Books: We are sad to say that all library books will be due this Wednesday as the library will be closing this week to do the end-of-year inventories, device, and textbook returns. Please remember your library books.
K-6 Awards and 5th-grade promotion: Please save the date on 5/22 for our awards ceremony and promotion! We will have a family picnic from 11:30-12:00, followed immediately by promotion and awards from 12-12:30.
😃Middle School Information😃

8th Grade Knott's Trip: Be on the lookout for final details on the end-of-year 8th grade field trip to Knott's Berry Farm. A big thank you to our 8th-grade planning committee. They have been awesome and are working diligently to make sure the end of year and end of Middle School Career is special.
8th Grade Classes for Next Year: The majority of course requests have been inputted for the 24/25 school year. They are in the course request section. If your student is leaving the TUSD school district be sure that you contact the school and get your course requests in.
Device Collection: All 8th graders and any students that will be leaving TUSD next year, will need to turn in their devices at promotion for 8th graders and the Wednesday of the final academic week (May 29) for 6th/7th graders.

Senior Breakfast and Movie: Senior Breakfast and a Movie is almost here! Please be sure to RSVP using this link. Breakfast starts at 10 am and the movie starts at 11 am. There will be treats and swag bags for our amazing seniors.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: The staff at Legacy Magnet Academy has graciously invited our students to be a part of their Junior and Senior Prom. Included is a flyer that provides information for students to purchase tickets online (www.lmaasb.org) or checks can be made out to Legacy Magnet Academy ASB. Students will need to submit a permission slip as well. Please let Mr. Fineberg or the office know if you are interested in attending.

No word on a new member of the Wijnhamer family. As a reminder, while Mrs. W is out, Mrs. Harding will be supporting our students and families. Mrs. Harding is a well respected and talented counselor in TUSD for many years. We are so lucky to have her support and knowledge. She's great. Her email is bharding@tustin.k12.ca.us.

Free Online Tutoring Available for K-12 Students
Brainfuse HelpNow is an on demand, anytime, anywhere eLearning platform available for all ages and levels. Last week, it was announced that every Californian can now access free online tutoring available 24/7 through a new initiative offering homework help in every K-12 subject and skill-building resources for K-12 and adult learners.
Real-time homework assistance can now be accessed 24/7 here and on the websites of any of the 1,130 local public libraries around the state – click on the “HelpNow” link to reach a one-on-one tutor. The pilot program led by the State Library offers assistance in Math, Language Arts, and other core K-12 subjects in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. There’s no age limit to who can use the service. Adult learners can also access writing assistance, citizenship resources and other tools.

Sora Sweet Reads in an annual summer reading program designed for schools to encourage students to keep reading all year long. "Check out" the free collection of simultaneous use juvenile and young adult ebooks (and select audiobooks).
Login to Sora to access these and many any other great ebooks and audiobooks all summer long through Clever, TUSD Student Portal or soraapp.com using your TUSD Google login and password.
