Hello wonderful Northridge folks,
Thank you for the GREAT school year!! Have a great summer. Our last day was last Thursday! The last week was a great one!! Thank you for your support and partnership. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!! You will hear from us from time to time this summer. Report cards, supply lists, testing results and assorted will be mailed to you over the next weeks.
One of our Northridge families suffered a tremendous catastrophic loss in a home fire. If you would like to support this wonderful family, who have students in all of our schools, sign up for Northridge Neighborhood Bridges. Needs will be added as they are organized.
Congratulations to our school secretary, Mrs. Paisie, on retirement this year. Your service to our school community is greatly appreciated.Additionally, best wishes to some our teachers and paraprofessionals who are off to different endeavors!!! We have loved you and appreciated you!Good luck in all you do!!
Thank you PTO for the awesome school support!! YOU are the best!! We celebrated all our students with ice cream treats on the last day!!
Throughout the year we have been so lucky and blessed to have so many GREAT volunteers. Thank you!!! YOU are deeply appreciated and noticed. Kids are also so proud and happy to have you!!
Reading Book Challenge this summer....last week we are sent home, with children, a colorful SUMMER READING CHALLENGE documentation sheet for all children. Reading during the summer, is incredibly important for students to continue to progress and build that love of reading. Summer "slide" is avoidable and we want kids to continue to grow and and enjoy reading. We are asking children to read and record their reading minutes each day on a special documentation sheet we sent home. In the fall, we will have extra recesses and prizes to celebrate our reading!! Yes...the Alexandria , Homer, and Johnstown libraries are a great, kid friendly places to visit for sure!!! HERE IS AN ELECTRONIC VERSION of our form. On the back of the hard copies are suggested book titles!

Hands and Feet Movement is a local non-profit organization that helps local community members who are in need. They also help spread kindness and focus on community service. The organization is run by Nurse Nikki Higgins and her family. Please consider joining the 2nd annual Hands and Feet Movement Community Service Summer Program. We are hopeful to meet our goal of having 300 participants from preschool through twelfth grade in the Johnstown and Northridge districts, including home schooled students. Our community is special, and we want to foster a sense of kindness, compassion, and empathy in our students, so they can learn to make their part of the world better!
