NRAC Family Newsletter
"Empowering Students to Design Their Own Future"
November 8, 2024 - Principal's Message
NRAC Families,
As we move into November, I'm reminded that this season gives us an opportunity to reflect on what our school community values most—supportive families, hardworking students, and dedicated staff. With the school year well underway, we’re proud of the progress our students are making and look forward to the learning experiences that await.
This month, there are a variety of activities and celebrations, from fall-themed projects in our classrooms to Veterans Day celebrations. Our annual parent-teacher conferences are also underway and we look forward to discussing your child’s growth and goals for the rest of the school year.
As always, we’re grateful for your ongoing support. Your involvement truly makes a difference, and together, we create a nurturing environment where our students can thrive.
Have a great month!
Shane

The STOPit App is a perfect way for students to report bullying or anonymously report information to administrators that could be harmful to students and staff members in our school. While reporting this information to an administrator or parent is the best option, using the STOPit app allows students to report information to us from anywhere and anytime. Please click HERE for more information.
Safety and Security
Our School Safety Day on October 30th was a great success! Our students did a fantastic job following important directions from their teachers and had great follow up conversations with their teachers about the importance of these drills.
On November 15, our students will participate in an evacuation fire drill that will take us across the street to the Fire Station and City Department. This drill will simulate an emergency event that would necessitate the relocation of students outside of the building in an emergency situation. Students will follow the same fire drill procedures but will walk across the street to their respective safety locations before coming back to the building.
As a reminder, we conduct safety drills throughout the school year to prepare our students and staff for emergency situations. We hope you have conversations with your students at home about the importance of safety drills at school.

Student Pick Up Procedures
As a reminder, the main 5-8 parking lot is not a student pick up location. Please also refrain from parking in the lot early and picking up students at dismissal. This causes a safety issue for students who run into the parking lot and also clogs the parking lot so that essential evening workers can't park for their work shifts to begin. Please utilize the 3-4 pick up line or the 5-8 pick up line to pick up your students at the end of the day.
NRAC PTO/Boosters Update
