Beall Brief
Week of August 25
Just a few updates:
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us on Friday for our Sneak Peek! It was wonderful to see so many returning faces and meet lots of new Dragons who will be starting at Beall this week. Special Thank You to our Beall PTA for providing the sweet treat!
We hope you are having a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. We look forward to welcoming all of our students tomorrow morning for the first day of the 2024-25 School Year!
IMPORTANT- Bus Schedule
Please be patient with morning and afternoon routes. It is likely that there will be delays as traffic patterns are impacted with the start of the school year. The Department of Transportation will be monitoring the timing of the routes as well as the number of students on each bus.
Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Students may enter the building at 8:40 am. Please do NOT drop your child off before 8:40 am, as there is no adult supervision available. Students will wait outside of their classroom, or in their designated location, between 8:40 and 8:50. Supervision will be provided by Beall staff during this time. School starts at 9:00 am. Parents should accompany students arriving after this time into the main office to sign in and receive a late pass.
We ask that parents who are dropping off students at our supervised location on Luckett Street please remain in your car, pull forward all the way, adhere to the posted traffic signs, and avoid “leap frogging” other cars. We want every child to have a safe opportunity to exit their vehicle.
Dismissal will begin at 3:25 pm. Students should know if they are considered a car rider, bus rider, walker, or Global.
- Car Riders- will be dismissed first. They will exit through the main doors and walk directly to the supervised location on Luckett Street. Parents will remain in their cars and pull forward. Beall Staff will direct students to their car when it is safe to enter the vehicle. (Note- Kindergarten and preK students cannot be designated as Car Riders.)
- Bus Riders- will be escorted to the bus room by Beall Staff. Students will line up by bus route.
- Walkers- will be escorted to the parking lot nearest the loading dock. Kindergarten students will come down the small set of stairs nearest the loading dock. Grades 1-5 will exit through the double doors (nearest the gym). The lot will be closed to traffic during dismissal. Beall Staff will dismiss preK or Kindergarten student directly to an adult picking up. Parents should remind all other students of their dismissal expectations (walk home or wait for an adult). Please provide staff and students with plenty of space to exit the building safely. Parents (grades 1-5) should identify a meeting location that is away from the building exit.
- Global- Students attending Global Child Care in the afternoon will be escorted to the gym. Following Beall dismissal, Global will transition to their primary location in the cafeteria.
If there is a change in your child’s after school plans, please send a note to the teacher in advance. Prior to the start of the school day, we recommend that you take a moment to review with your child all changes to their dismissal routine, including after-school activities. If you need to pick up your child during the school day, please send a note to your child’s teacher. Office staff will call your child out of class once you have arrived to pick them up. Following these procedures will minimize disruptions to instruction. In case of emergency, please call the school as early as possible to ensure that messages are received in a timely manner.

Join the PTA!
Please join the PTA for the 2024-2025 school year! Your support is critical for the PTA programs and events that we all love. The 2024-2025 membership form is now open- please join today!
A note about this year's dues: In an effort to ensure that cost is not a barrier to any Beall family joining the PTA, membership dues were substantially lowered last year. We are therefore kindly requesting that you consider making a donation to the PTA when you purchase your membership, to support our programming. A donation in the amount of $20 (individual) or $35 (family) would bring your total contribution in line with previous year's dues, but any amount is appreciated. We thank you for your support.
