Congratulations!

Each month, Manville School District staff recognizes outstanding performance by students and staff in each building. Enthusiasm, determination, work ethic and benevolence are taken into consideration. Those who exemplify these qualities are awarded for their efforts with Student or Staff of the Month. Weston

Skylah Gonzalez

Grade: Kindergarten

Skylah was selected as February’s Student of the Month because she is extremely kind to everyone she meets. Skylah is always ready to help a friend in need, offer words of encouragement, and she always solves her problems with kind words and actions. She is a shining example of what it means to be kind and she makes our classroom so bright!

Wyatt Rada

Wyatt is always so willing to help others without being asked. He cares for people and always wants to help people feel better. He tries to make sure everyone is included. Wyatt loves giving hugs to his classmates and teachers.

Jade Croux

Jade is the role model for kindness in second grade. She is always helping others around the classroom and solving problems with friends in a calm way. If anyone has a bad day or is feeling down, you can be sure that Jade will jump in to help, and include them in what she is doing to cheer them up. Jade always asks politely to use or borrow materials in our classroom. She is excited about school each day and approaches everything with a huge smile. Congratulations Jade on earning the student of the month for kindness!

Matthew Blanco

Matthew was selected because he assists peers with cleaning up and helping them get their belongings. He also has a contagious smile.

Jessica Storey

Staff of the Month

I have been a nurse for 16yrs, primarily working as a neonatal and OB nurse. I also briefly worked with Aetna’s Medicaid division as a nurse case manager before becoming a school nurse. I became a school nurse after my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and I quickly realized how important the role of the school nurse is to students with chronic medical conditions and their families.


Notable Accomplishments

Meaningful and rewarding relationships are at the core of all my professional accomplishments. As a school nurse, I’ve been able to form meaningful and lasting relationships with not only staff and students, but also their families. The heartfelt relationships that I have built with the students are so incredibly rewarding. They trust me to care for them, and that means the world to me. Throughout my career with RWJ, Saint Peter’s Hospital, and Aetna, I’ve had the opportunity to work with and care for many different kinds of people from all different backgrounds. Of all these places I’ve had the pleasure of working, the community of Manville is by far the most rewarding.

Roosevelt

Kennedy Williamson

Kennedy is always following the Roosevelt Road. She participates and is engaged in her learning. She is always kind and inclusive of friends. Kennedy is responsible and helps to support any student and is always kind to them. She is in Circle of Friends and loves working with the students in Ms. Wanda's room. She lights up the room with her smile!

Nayadet Guerra

Nayadet has made tremendous growth and progress both academically and personally this school year. She lights up any room she is in! She has consistently shown that she can use coping tools and take direction on how to change her behavior in various situations. Nayadet advocates for herself and utilizes her learned calming strategies when she is dysregulated. Nayadet continues to work hard in everything she does!

Mrs. Dattola

Staff of the Month

Mrs. Dattola has been working in the Manville School District since September 2017. She has spent all of her time as a proud member of Roosevelt School with the dynamic 4th-grade team and students, where she has taught primarily math and science before being de-departmentalized and teaching all four core subjects. She avidly participates in the Roosevelt Dress Down Days and has participated in many clubs and committees.


Before Manville, she taught Gifted & Talented for 3rd through 8th graders in several districts.

When she's not teaching, you can find her spending time with her husband, daughter (Hadley), and dog (Barkleigh), cheering on the Penn State Nittany Lions and James Madison Dukes, and enjoying time running and crafting. She also loves to travel to the Outer Banks with her family and enjoy the beach!

Nicholas Russell

Nicholas works hard in class and works well with his classmates. He is a frequent participant in class and demonstrates leadership skills. He is respectful towards his classmates and teachers. Overall, he is a good role model for other students.

Bobby Haynes

Annabelle Matthews

Annabelle is a very hard worker, and manages to stay on top of her work. Annabelle has gotten involved with after school activities such as the Game Club. Annabelle has been able to succeed academically, been a positive influence in class and a very respectful student to all her teachers. We hope she continues to work hard and give her best in all she does.

Gregory Jackson

Staff of the Month

Mr. Jackson started his journey into education at Kean University graduating in 2016. He then found his first job teaching in New Brunswick Middle School where he worked for 5 years teaching 6th and 8th grade students. Mr. Jackson then made his way over to Manville where he has continued on to his 7th year of teaching 7th Graders bringing with him his creative lessons and fun take on learning.



Notable Accomplishments

Mr. Jackson has worked to become an ideal member of the ABIS community, creating fun and interesting lessons, getting involved with many activities and clubs. including starting the Game Club, participating in the Faculty Vs. Student games, and even “came in like a wrecking ball,” for the ABIS Got Talent Show. Mr. Jackson has taken on the role of a mentor to his student teacher this year. He works to bring a fun and infectious energy to the school with his loud booming laugh and happy demeanor with students and staff. Mr. Jackson has built meaningful relationships with students by getting to know them and having fun with them in school and extracurricular activities.

Genesis Murillo

I have witnessed Genesis work critically and thoughtfully to establish a solid academic and personal foundation for herself by strengthening her emotional intelligence, navigating leadership roles, and accomplishing goals she set forth for herself. Genesis gives her energy to our school and community through her numerous leadership roles and her work with our after-care program at Weston Elementary.


3 Fun Facts about Genesis:

  1. Reading is my favorite hobby and I love all kinds of genres.

  2. I work in childcare and at an ice cream shop. They’re the best jobs I could’ve applied for and I look forward to working everyday.

  3. No matter how old I get, I’ll always be excited to receive or buy a stuffed animal.


My Favorite thing about my school is… "having met some of the greatest people who have stuck by my side since my earliest days at Weston. Being such a small town has made me appreciate the friends I have who I can call family, along with the wonderful teachers who have supported me throughout my academic years."

Tyler Kesolitz

Athlete of the Month

Grade:12


Tyler Kesolitz has earned Athlete of the Month for leading the Manville Boys Basketball team to 12 wins. On the season, he is averaging 17 points and 5 rebounds per game. He has made 71 three pointers so far which is 1st place in the Conference.


3 Fun Facts about Tyler:

  1. Made 1,000 career points. The first MHS Boys Basketball player in over 50 years.

  2. Both of my parents went to Manville and played Varsity Sports

  3. I’ve always loved sports because I was introduced to it at a young age. So much so that I ran Cross Country my Freshmen year because COVID made me feel out of shape.


My Favorite thing about my school is… "How involved everyone is and they make sure to acknowledge you when you reach a milestone, break a record or accomplish something noteworthy."

Johanna Poumeyrol

Staff of the Month

Mrs. Poumeyrol has worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice Principal for the past year at Manville High School. She migrated to the United States from Costa Rica in 2003. She currently resides in Manville with her husband Gustavo and her three sons that all attended or are currently attending school in the Manville School District. Before Mrs. Poumeyrol’s career began at Manville High School, she dedicated 17 years as the office manager at Zoned Sports Academy. She is passionate about community involvement which led her to be a soccer coach for Manville Recreation for three years. Having spent a year at Manville High School she is committed to her work, expressing a deep love for helping families within the district, drawing from her own immigrant experience to empathize with the challenges faced by students' families, much like her own challenges when entering the United States.

Jennifer Rodzinak

Jennifer Rodzinak has emerged as a shining example of dedication and expertise in our school district, earning the title of District Staff Member of the Month. Jen joined our school district last year as the District’s BCBA, whose expertise has played a pivotal role in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.


Jen possesses a rare blend of compassion, patience, and analytical skills, enabling her to forge meaningful connections with students, parents, and educators. Whether collaborating with teachers to integrate behavioral strategies into the classroom, educating staff through articulation and professional development, or providing guidance and support to families navigating the challenges of raising a child with special needs, Jen consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every child receives the support they deserve. Her optimism, empathy, and unwavering commitment to promoting inclusivity and fostering the potential of every student exemplify the core values of our school district.


When she is not at work, Jen enjoys doing anything she can outside with her husband and two children. She also enjoys cooking recipes from vintage cookbooks, playing video games, attending heavy metal concerts, and is currently training for her second bodybuilding competition.
