Winter Program
Embrace the winter season with Brooklyn STEM Academy on Thursday, December 7th starting at 6PM. All are welcome to attend our Winter Music Program featuring grades K and 3rd. Please enter through door 2.
2-Hour Delay Reminder
Breakfast is not served on 2-hour delay days. Doors open at 10:25am. School starts at 10:40am. YMCA before school care opens at normal time.
Also, please note that should we release early from school, the YMCA after-school program is not an available option as they also close.

Pre-K
KG
First
First grade has been working on Project Lead The Way module Light & Sound. They investigated sound and are now working on light.
Second
Second grade finished their Owl Unit with a trip to Eagle Creek Park learning more about nature, dissecting owl pellets, and seeing an actual Barn Owl and Great Horned Owl!
Third
Third grade continued studying about inherited and environmental traits. Soon they will be constructing a flower with the traits they have inherited.
Fourth
Fourth grade is learning how to code, program, and create computer games.
PTO
Exceptional Experiences
Many students and classrooms won experiences from last month's Grandparent's night raffle. Hannah (Mrs. Gardner's class) won the principal's chair, she had the best seat in the school and topped off the prize both "Teares" had a lunch "meeting".

- glow party: Nora (Brummett)
- movie and snack class party: Marley (Harriman)
- ride to school with a police officer: Lucas (Brummett) with Officer Hammans from Martinsville PD.
December Theme Days Calendar
School Wide Title 1
Funding has been made available through School Wide Title 1 Services to Brooklyn Elementary for the purpose of providing students with extra support in reading/language arts and math. This extra support is available for all students at Brooklyn Elementary. Classroom teachers, Title 1 Teachers and instructional aides provide assistance through small group and individualized instruction as children demonstrate a need for support. Please contact your teacher about services your child may receive.
