ELA

We will read and analyze Spiders by Gail Gibbons for non-fiction text features. We will compare and contrast ants and spiders. We will learn about three types of sentences and use them correctly when writing.


Students can watch and listen to the book be read out loud.

MATH

We will generate and solve problem situations for a given mathematical number sentence involving addition and subtraction of whole numbers within 1,000.


Students can watch the videos below to help with addition and subtraction fluency.

SOCIAL STUDIES

We will recognize basic needs and wants and choices we have to make because of limited resources.We will identify ways people can conserve and replenish natural resources.We will examine the development of a product from a natural resource to a finished product.


Watch the Berenstain Bears (below), as a family and discuss needs and wants with your 2nd grader.

PRINCIPALS DRESS CODE REMINDERS

As the weather gets cooler, please remind your students of the Dress Code in regards to leggings.


~ Tight-fitting clothing is not permitted without a covering garment that when worn alone meets the other guidelines of this dress code. This may include but not be limited to: camisoles, leggings, biking shorts/tights (spandex), or athletic/athletic-type girdle.

(Leggings should not be worn as pants.)
