Mary Bowens
I am the proud principal of Timberline and love working with the students, staff, and community. This is my 28th year as an educator and 5th year as principal at Timberline. As a Colorado native, I cherish the beautiful mountains and blue skies we experience. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, Stephen, is a 5th-grade teacher at Canyon Creek Elementary. We have two children: Matthew, a senior at Grand Canyon University, and Sydney, a sophomore at Pepperdine University. Our corgi, Princeton, brings us lots of love and entertainment. We love to travel, especially on cruises, painting, singing, and spending time with our extended family. I am committed that EVERY Timberwolf, gets 100%, Every Day!

My name is Gina Bighorn, and I am excited to embark on another rewarding year as Timberline's school nurse. With nearly 10 years of experience as a school nurse and 30 years as a registered nurse, I am passionate about supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of your students.
In my free time, I enjoy an active lifestyle, including swimming, baking, reading, fitness, F1 racing, and watching all sports. I have four children, one granddaughter, two dogs Nuhana and Wilson. Growing up, I was an elite gymnast and competitive swimmer/diver, experiences that have instilled a lifelong love of physical activity and health.
With a caring nature, extensive medical expertise, and diverse personal interests, I am an invaluable asset to the Timberline community. I look forward to helping students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Liz Nunley
I’m, Liz Nunley, I am the Office Manager at Timberline! I have been employed with the Cherry Creek School District for 24 years! Serving so many wonderful families and their children. I make it my priority to take care of Timberline parents, students, grandparents and staff. If situations arise I always treat you as a priority, amongst all of my other office manager responsibilities.
I have been married to my husband for 42 years, proud mom of two daughters and 3 granddaughters! In my spare off time I enjoy spending time with my husband riding our Harley’s, vacationing with my family and enjoying the mountains of Colorful Colorado.

Hi! I’m Debbi Leggett I have been working at Timberline for 27 years. I’ve been a Parent Volunteer, a TA, and I found my Happy Place as the Registrar / Secretary. I’ve had the pleasure working with many families through the generations. It’s always fun seeing former students coming back with their new Timberwolves. I’ve been married for 39 years and have three great kids and 3 wonderful grandsons. I love spending my free time spoiling my Grandsons, quilting, watching sports, and going to Nerd conventions with my daughter. Im looking forward to another great year!

My name is Donna Burdett, here is a little bit about me, I have been married to my husband Larry for 40 years, we have 2 daughters Sara and Jennifer (Austin- Son in law) and 1 grandson Kade. I am originally from Buffalo, New York “Go Bills!” I love my dog Mr. Peabody, coffee, football, fall, and snowman.
I am a teacher for UPK and Enrichment here at Timberline, and I have been with Early Childhood for 20 years. I enjoy working with this age group, as they are like little sponges that absorb so much! They are also sweet, funny, and as they say, “they say funniest things.” I am excited to meet all of you and thank you for letting me teach your children this school year.

My name is Kerri Rose. A little bit about me, I have been teaching Pre-K at Timberline since 1998, I am married and have one daughter who will be a senior in college, during my free time I like to shop, hike, go for walks and spend time with family and friends. Hello! I am Mrs. Jovy Bauter, a Paraprofessional in Pre-Kindergarten at Timberline Elementary and this will be my 3rd year. My family and I enjoy traveling, hiking, swimming, camping and like to take short walks to balance our busy life. My favorite color is mauve, and I have a passion for trying different cuisines. ❤️

Hello! I am Mrs. Dosen… This is my 13th year of teaching and my fourth year at Timberline. When I am not at school, I enjoy gardening, hiking, and golfing. I love to spend time with my husband, son (2 yrs), two rambunctious dogs, two nieces, and twin nephews. My favorite color is *sparkles* and I love Cherry Coke! Cara Giancaterino
Hello! My name is Cara Giancaterino and I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten this year. This is my 2nd year at Timberline and I’m thrilled to be involved in this amazing community of teachers and families again. I received my masters degree in 2021 from the University of Northern Colorado where I studied Early Childhood Special Education. When I am not teaching or hanging around children, I am enjoying time with my family and friends, going to concerts, watching/cheering on the Nuggets and Avalanche, crafting on my cricut machine, and now helping my younger sister plan her wedding that will be happening in May!

First Grade
Sarah Kroeker
I am thrilled to be teaching First Grade at Timberline Elementary this year!
This is my first year teaching at Timberline Elementary, however I have been teaching on and off the past 14 years in several different settings. Most recently I have been teaching 2nd grade at Trails West Elementary School. I have three active kids of my own at home. My two boys, Bryce who is in 9th grade and Brady who is in 7th grade, and my daughter Kinley who is in 5th grade. My family stays busy year round with various sports and we love spending most of our free time in traveling and exploring Colorado. I am very excited to part of the amazing Timberline Community!
Amanda Mielnicki
This is my 16th year as a Timberline Timberwolf and 4th year as a First Grade Teacher.
A few of my favorite things are white chocolate mochas, Target shopping trips, reading (especially mysteries), flair pens, and having adventures with my two young sons, Noah (6) and Jordan (1). I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year with our Timberwolves!

The 2024-2025 school year is my seventh year working as an elementary educator! This is my first year teaching in Cherry Creek School District. Prior to joining CCSD, I taught first and second grades in Adams County School District 14 and kindergarten in Aurora Public Schools. I am thrilled to be teaching first grade at Timberline Elementary School this year!
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Matt, and our 16 month old son, who is also named Matt! We love watching movies, traveling, and playing with Cinder, our 10 year old tabby cat, and Lily, our 5 year old English cream golden retriever!
Some of my favorite things include Sprite, Junior Mints, Mad Greens, vanilla-scented candles, and anything related to dinosaurs!

Julie Bose-Snyder
My name is Julie Bose-Snyder, and I love teaching First Grade at Timberline. This is my 24th year at Timberline and my 31st year of teaching. I am married, and we have a blended family with 6 kids (that all attended Timberline 😊 ) and 3 grandkids. I love spending time with my family and have been told that I might just be obsessed with Disney. Mickey Mouse & Mtn Dew are my favorites!

Hello! I'm Ms. Moore and I am one of the 2nd grade teachers. This is my 16th year teaching and my 4th year at Timberline. In my free time a love spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to another fabulous school year.
Josh Newmark
My name is Josh Newmark, and I am so excited to teach your 2nd grade children this year. Originally from Palm Springs, California, my family moved to Denver in 1997. I earned a bachelor’s degree in English Creative Writing from the University of Colorado-Denver, and because of this, one of my favorite hobbies is to write children’s books and short stories. I have taught religious school and Hebrew for 18 years at my synagogue. Also, I tutored multiple subjects on Tutor.com for a number of years. Moreover, I participated in the Stanley Teacher Prep Program and received a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Adams State University with an emphasis on Culture and Diversity. Also, I was a teacher at Graland Country Day School for a few years. I have also worked as a teacher at Cherry Creek Elevation, and this is my 3rd year at Timberline. Finally, I also work at the Press Club at Coors Field during the summer, which allows me to show off my love for sports. I love to talk anything sports! Finally, I have been married to my amazing wife, Jamie, for almost 5 years. Thank you for letting me share a little about myself; I look forward to learning more about your families as well.
Jackie Schneider
I will be one of the 2nd grade teachers this year. This will be my 6th year of teaching, and I am thrilled to be joining the Timberline team! I love to spend time with my husband, hike, read, cook, watch tv and travel. Our dog, Rosie, is the sweetest third member of our family. I am also originally from Colorado and I love seeing my family who lives nearby. I hope everyone is having a great summer, and I am looking forward to meeting my new students and families so soon!
Kara Viburg
Hello Timberline Families! I am Kara Viburg, 2nd grade teacher here at Timberline! I am excited to begin my 6th year here at TIM and my 16th year of teaching. I am a proud mom of 3 girls, Sophie - 20 attending ASU, Makenna - 19 attending KU and Tala -17 a senior and varsity cheerleader at Grandview High School. This summer I also became a new dog mom! We adopted a 12 week old puppy while on vacation in Orange Beach! She has become the sweetest little addition to our family. I am looking forward to another wonderful year at timberline and continuing to build relationships in our fantastic community!

I am a proud mom of two teen girls who keep me busy with swim team practice, thrifting and traveling. My husband and I are pleased that we moved our family here and are enjoying being Coloradans. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching for the past 23 years and am looking forward to my second year at Timberline. In my free time, I enjoy escaping in a book, listening to live music and trying new recipes.
Shelly Lajimodiere
I am over-the-top excited to teach 3rd grade again for the 2024-2025 school year! It is my 18th year teaching elementary school (16 years with Cherry Creek). I originally planned to be a high school Spanish teacher but discovered my love for elementary when I moved to Denver from Michigan in 2000. I have taught 3rd, 4th & 5th grades and Kindergarten through 5th English Language Support and Intervention. Besides God, my husband and 16-year-old son, my favorite things are my chocolate lab (Ginny Weasley), reading, playing disc golf, watching the Broncos & Avs, hiking, and taking naps.
Laura Netzer
Hello! My name is Laura Netzer. This is my first-year teaching at Timberline Elementary and I am so excited to be here! This will be my 18th year teaching, 16 of those years I spent teaching preschool, and this is my second-year teaching elementary age students-which I absolutely love doing! I went to the University of Northern Colorado and completed my degree in Elementary Education. I then attended the University of Phoenix and graduated with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I have two children; my daughter Gwen is 17 and will be a senior at Eaglecrest this year and my son Will who is going into 4th grade. We have two cats, Merida and Freyja and a dog, Anders . In my free time I enjoy baking, taking walks, listening to audiobooks, and kayaking. The Aurora Reservoir is one of my favorite places to be.

Naheel Hasan
My name is Naheel Hasan, and I’m thrilled to join the fourth-grade teaching team this year. I have a master’s degree in elementary education and bachelor’s degree in Early Learning Program Development. This is my first-year teaching, so I’m super excited and look forward to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting every student to reach their full potential. My goal is to inspire curiosity, encourage critical thinking and ensure that each student’s voice is heard and respected. Outside the school, I get busy with my little family that consists of my husband and three years old son named Yassin. I enjoy discovering new places with them.
Emily Maughan
Hello! My name is Emily Maughan and I teach 4th grade. I have been a part of the Timberline family since 2022 and I have loved every second of it! I hold a degree in elementary education with an emphasis in cultural and linguistic diversity, and am currently working on my master's in educational psychology from the University of Northern Colorado (Go Bears!). I am passionate about creating a classroom community where every student can learn, grow, and achieve. Outside the classroom, I love reading, trying new food, traveling, crafting, and being outdoors. I am excited to embark on this new learning journey with you this year!

I am a National Board-Certified 4th grade teacher at Timberline with a master's degree and 22 years of teaching experience in Cherry Creeks schools. In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, cycling, playing pickleball and spending time with my husband and dog Koda.

I am excited to be teaching 5th graders this year! I have been in CCSD over 20 years and enjoy partnering with staff and families to help students reach their full potential. I have been teaching for over 15 years. I received my BA and MA from Texas Southern University. I have three amazing children. I love movies, hiking, biking, biographies, hummingbirds and seahorses. My favorite color is sea blue. Sadly, no caffeine for me due to being allergic.
Jody Thomas
I am Jody Thomas. I have been with the district since 1993 and at Timberline since 2004. It has been a joy to watch the children of our Timberline families grow from Kindergarten to 5th grade before moving on to Middle School. I am currently teaching 5th grade.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my adult children and granddaughter.

Caleb Personne
My name is Mr. Personne or as many call me, at Timberline, "Coach" and I am the proud P.E. teacher at Timberline Elementary. This will be my 4th year at Timberline, my 8th year in teaching, and I am looking forward to coming back for another great school year! I am a Colorado native and grew up in Littleton. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats at home that keep me very busy in the best ways possible. I am always running and hiking with my dogs in this beautiful state of Colorado. Amanda Akstins
My name is Amanda Akstins and this is my third year teaching music at Timberline Elementary School! I enjoy reading, being outdoors, video games, board games, spending time with my husband and pets, and going to concerts. I moved to the Denver metro area in 2015 from Chicago, IL. I have two dogs and a cat. I play bassoon with several ensembles in the Denver area.
Education
I received my Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. I am Orff certified through the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. Orff-Schulwerk refers to a specific approach to music education developed by Carl Orff, which combines music, speech, movement, and drama into music lessons that are very similar to the way a child plays naturally. This will be my 11th year as a teacher!

Suzanne Causer
Hello! My name is Suzanne Causer and I am the English Language teacher at Timberline. I have the privilege of working with students whose first language is not English. Specifically, I teach all aspects of English literacy - reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary and grammar. We have 16 different languages spoken at Timberline including Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, French, Tigrinia, and Nepali!
I have been a teacher in Cherry Creek for many years and this is my second year at Timberline.
I am married to my husband, Rob, and we have one daughter, Olivia. She is a middle school counselor in the district. Rob and I love to travel and explore new places, as well as spoil our "granddog", Sammy!
Julie Chiang

I am Mrs. Chiang, and I am extremely fortunate to work with the wonderful students at Timberline as a literacy interventionist. I have taught for over 21 years as a literacy interventionist, classroom teacher, and special education teacher. Some of my favorite things to do outside of school are spending time with my family, playing with my 2 dogs, Willa and Benny, reading great books, and going to the beach and the mountains.

Angie Costello
I am thrilled to join Timberline as the new Neurodiverse teacher! My goal is to inspire independent, curious thinkers and problem-solvers. I take great pleasure in meeting each learner where they are academically and guiding them to surpass expectations. Originally from Indianapolis, I have made Colorado my home for the past 14 years. After earning degrees in psychology and elementary education from Hanover College, I taught English in Japan through the JET program. I later pursued graduate studies in Seattle, where I met my husband, and we eventually moved to Denver in search of sunshine and adventure. Over the years, I have taught 2nd-5th grades, K-5 literacy intervention, and self-contained Gifted and Talented Pool classes. My husband and I now live in Elizabeth with our two daughters and silly Rottweiler. In my spare time, you can often find me playing Wordle, reading, walking, quilting, attending musical theater, putting together a jigsaw puzzle, watching Hallmark movies, or trying to keep deer out of my flower beds.

Jessica Kendall

My name is Jessica Kendall and I am the School Social Worker at Timberline! This is my third year at Timberline and my 10th year in Cherry Creek. Before coming to Timberline, I spent many years at Laredo Middle School here in Cherry Creek and an elementary school in Adams 14 School District. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver and I have been a practicing clinical social worker for 17 years working in child protection before making the change to schools.
I have lived in Colorado since 2005, moving here from Michigan, where I am from originally. I share my life with my husband, two children who are both in middle school this year (both Timberline Alumni), and our two-year-old black lab named Moose. When I’m not at Timberline, I love to spend my time traveling, reading, socializing with friends, and watching my kids play their various sports all year long.

Lindsey Collelo
The 24-25 school year will be my 3rd year as one of the Speech Language Pathologists at Timberline. I have worked in both private practice and in elementary schools with a total of 9 years as an SLP. In my free time I enjoy making memories with my family, exploring the outdoors, and trying different restaurants in the area. I absolutely love being a Timberwolf and I am so excited for this upcoming school year!
Carly Eichler
I am an occupational therapist who was lucky enough to serve Timberline the last 2 years to help maximize kiddos' independence. I also work with the older population in skilled nursing facilities on the weekends and during school breaks. I am a huge animal lover, volunteering my time with shelters and fostering both cats and dogs. I enjoyed integrating my personal rescue dog into therapy at my last position. I'm getting married this fall in the mountains. Looking forward to a great school year!
Alice Dennis
My name is Ms. Dennis, and I am a graduate of Bemidji State University, Minnesota. Over the past years, i have gained diverse work experience in the special education field. I have worked as a center-based teacher for several years, and I have enjoyed my position as the ILC teacher in Belleview for two years. I’m hoping to learn new things from my Timberline team, as well as the students and their parents.
I am married and blessed with two beautiful children, ages 21 and 7 years old. I love to read and sing at my spare time. I love meeting new people. I am originally from Ghana in West Africa. I am looking forward to have a great school year with this great team!!
Julia Luehrman
As an elementary educator for 38 years, I've spent the last 18 of them teaching at Timberline Elementary. My current position as a member of the Special Education team working in the Integrated Learning Center is the best job in town.
When I'm not teaching, you can find me relaxing in a small CO mountain town or sneaking into a baseball game at Coors Field when the STL Cardinals are in town.
Whitney Rubenstein
Hi! My name is Whitney Rubenstein and I am one of the special education (ILC) teachers at Timberline. This year will be my 27th year teaching at Timberline and my 6th year as a special education teacher. My husband and I have 3 boys that keep us very busy. Our oldest is a senior at Colorado State, our middle son is a senior at Cherokee Trail and our youngest is a freshman at Cherokee Trail. When I am not at school or on the lacrosse field, I love puzzles and walking.
Tara Howard
Hello Timberwolves! My name is Tara Howard and I have been teaching at Timberline Elementary for the past 19 years. I have taught in kindergarten for 12 years, 1st grade for 2 years, and 3rd grade for 4 years. This year I am so excited to continue my teaching in the special services department, helping my students reach their academic goals. I have a wonderful husband of 15 years and I am a proud mom of two Cherry Creek students. Kellen, my son will be in 8th grade at Infinity Middle School and my daughter, Anabelle, will be a 5th grader at Pine Ridge Elementary. Not to leave out our beloved cavapoo, Bunsen J. Honeydew, who always makes us smile. Our family is always busy running around with year round swim and dance, theater performances, competitions, and music lessons. My name is Janee Deck and this will be my second year as a Moderate Needs teacher at Timberline, and third year teaching Special Education. Welcome to the Timberline Library!
I have THE BEST job in the school. My role is to manage our school library, while supporting students, teachers, and staff with their literacy needs. K-5 classes come to the library twice a month for story and checkout to promote the importance and love of reading, as well as to improve their comprehension skills.
When I'm not in the library, I love to read, hang out with my dog, and enjoy anything outside-- walking, swimming, gardening, hiking, concerts, and Rockies games.
As Einstein wisely stated, "The only thing that you absolutely have to know, IS THE LOCATION OF THE LIBRARY." All are Welcome!!

Hello my name is Lindsey Rastetter.
I am the Director of Wolf Pack (Before and After school program). I have been with Timberline since 2021 but have been with the district for 15 years. I was also a student who attended Cherry Creek Schools.
I was born and raised in Aurora, CO.
I love to hang out with my friends, family and dog Tegan. I also like to be outside, do make-up, spend time in the gym, read, watch movies/tv, and craft.

Mrs. Franklin is a proud Colorado native, mother, grandmother and matriarch of an incredibly creative family. She is an avid reader and enjoys exploring new stories, creative writing and the performing arts. She has taught creative writing and loves working with youth and encouraging them to be their best. She is the founder of an arts program for children on the Autism Spectrum.
Mrs. Franklin is thrilled to return to Timberline!
Nikki Hayes
I have been married for almost 28 years and my husband Chris and I have two daughters, Vyktorea is a sophomore at Eaglecrest and Addisyn is a fifth grade Timberwolf. I am a pet parent to 3 dogs, 2 cats, 6 snakes, 4 spiders, a Dubia Roach and two fish. I love cars and am a member of the Colorado Dodge Challengers Club, although I own Chargers (a 1967 and 2006) and am at car shows or meets most weekends, when the weather permits, with my family and friends in the club. I am currently, and will continue to be, a crossing guard and will be starting a new position as a TA this year. I am excited for this new adventure and to get to know more of the kids and staff at Timberline!

I look forward to another great year at Timberline! For those who don’t know me I’m a para for the ILC and the kids call me Ms. Tami! I’m a mother of 3 boys and 1 girl and four grandchildren! My favorite things are hanging out with my family and taking pictures!
Annie Leggett
Hi, I’m Annie Leggett. I’m a Severe Needs Para and crossing guard. I’ve been at Timberline for as long as I can remember. I actually was a student here from Pre-k to 5th grade, then I volunteered before becoming a TA. I really couldn’t tell you how long I’ve been here, but once a Timberwolf always a Timberwolf. One of my biggest accomplishments this year was receiving my associates degree from UNC. I can now officially say I’m a college graduate. When I’m not at Timberline I really love to draw, swim, read, watch movies/shows, drink coffee, chill with my cat and take my mom to nerd conventions.
