What an amazing first day. It was truly heartwarming to see students and teachers connect inside the classroom and on the playground. I am so proud of the way they were able to stay focused and actively participate in class despite the heat. We even had CBS and ABC news on campus to see how we handle the hot weather (Details Below). Our Emerson Eagles are amazing and we are off to a great start to being #H.A.P.P.Y.

We have a few classrooms on campus with air conditioning who are partnered with another classroom who does not have air. The teacher without air may call their buddy teacher when their room feels too warm for students and teacher. The buddy teacher will allow them to come into the air conditioned room where both classes will either read stories, practice math facts or work independently on items assigned by the teachers. Students are encouraged to drink plenty of water throughout the day in order to help stay cool and hydrated.

Our school neighbors have kindly asked that we remind parents to NOT block their driveways when dropping off and picking up. Also we noticed a few cars unattended in the middle of the street can cause traffic to back up and possible accidents. Safety is our utmost concern and we thank you in advance for making sure we keep everyone safe and ticket free.

EVERY THURSDAY TK – 5th Grade 2:30 dismissal

*** TK and Kinder will follow a minimum day schedule for the first 3 weeks of school. All TK and Kinder students will attend school from 9:00-2:00!!!
