Week 38
Words cannot express our gratitude for all that you have done to support our school and students throughout this year. Through all of the ups and down, this community always shows up for it's kids and that shows in the hallways, gymnasium, sports field and on the stages across our community. I am humbled by your continued good will and look forward to seeing you all around over the summer as we prepare for a new year!
This morning we will send our 6th and 7th graders on to Branbury for a fun day at the beach. We will send our 8th graders off from promotion as 9th grade students! We hope that this day is full of joy and celebration and look forward to enjoying all of the moments that help us capture the school year's successes.
To our 8th grade families, we wish you well in your journey to MUHS and look forward to hearing about all of the amazing things that your students will do in their future!
Again, thanks for all of your support and have a great weekend!
Best,
Michaela

From The MYP Coordinators
Quarter four report cards will be coming home soon, and we wanted to remind you that Quarter 4 scores actually represent the body of work your student has provided all year to demonstrate their proficiency in each of the four criteria. We are looking to see growth in each area (and if we don’t see the expected growth, to be curious about what the barriers are).
We wish our MUMS 8th graders well as they embark on their high school journey, and we welcome the incoming sixth graders from all of the towns in ACSD! We also welcome Michelle Steele who will be taking over as the MYP Coordinator for Pam Quinn. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the role!

For Eighth Grade families!
Our 8th grade celebration will be held today at 10:30am in our gymnasium, followed by a luncheon for eighth graders and their caregivers in the cafeteria. Following the celebration, 8th graders are free to leave with their caregivers.
We sent an email earlier this week with parking options given the parking limitations on Middle Road due to construction. Please use this link as a helpful reminder of where you can park and thanks for your understanding.
Please keep in mind that school will be in session on Monday, June 16. If you choose June 13th to be your child’s last day at MUMS, please notify the school by calling our attendance line 382-1297 or our main office 382-1600. In advance, it has been a pleasure and an honor to serve you and your child. Thank you for a great 3 years.
Student Attendance (absences/dismissals) and Bus Notes
- To report your child absent from school or notify us of an early dismissal please leave us a message on our attendance line by calling 382-1297 before 8:30 AM.
- If you send a student to school with an early dismissal note or bus note they should bring them the office before TA.
- All students taking a bus to another place other than home need a bus note from their caregiver. This note needs to be stamped/signed by one of our Administrative Assistant's in the front office. Students will not be allowed to ride a bus to another location without a note from home that is stamped/signed by the office.
Help Improve our Volunteer Program!
Do you volunteer in our schools? Join Superintendent Wendy Baker for a discussion about how to streamline, strengthen, and improve our volunteer program at ACSD schools. We will schedule a time to meet this fall to gather your feedback. Interested?
