Students were awarded based on the following criteria GPA (3.0 and above), Perfect Attendance, and/or Teacher Nominations for demonstrating creativity or responsibility.
🥼📄VCC DENTAL MOBILE VISITED RMS!🦷👩🏻⚕️
Dental screenings were available for RMS students this week. The VCC's excellent staff received 49 student visits to their great and modern dental mobile vehicle. The staff made oral exams, checked for cavities, and completed several treatments of sealants and fluoride. We have been so happy to have this program in our school for many years.
GREAT RMS CHOIR PERFORMANCE UNDER THE STARS!

On Tuesday, 4/8/25, our Advanced Choir performed at the Moonlight Amphitheater for Arts Under the Stars week. They performed: In This Ancient House (in English and Japanese), J’entends Le Moulin (in French and English), and Amazing. They also performed the Star Spangled Banner to open the show and Seize the Day (from the musical, “Newsies”) to close the show. These two songs were performed by the combined groups of ALL those who performed that evening!

On Wednesday, 4/9/25, our Jazz Band, the Jazz Cats, performed at the Moonlight Amphitheater for Arts Under the Stars week. They performed: Blues in Hoss’ Flat, Superstition, and Megalovania.

Design Challenge - Your neighbor's orchard went through a drought so you help them plant new trees that will grow and flourish.
They learn about the concept of hydraulics. They are building their hydraulic tree.
ANIMAL RESCUE PULLEY CHALLENGE IN MR. LAPORTE'S STEM PROGRM
This week's challenge is the Animal Rescue Pulley Challenge
They are part of an animal rescue team. They decide what kind of animal you'll save and design a pulley system that brings the animal to safety.
🌟 STEM AND CAREER EXPO 🌟
Special thanks to Mr. Gray and his students for their live demonstration on how to use a router—an awesome showcase of skill and applied learning. Our students did a fantastic job engaging with community members, confidently answering questions, and demonstrating the tool with professionalism and pride. It was a great example of real-world learning in action!

SCHOOL FOOD WASTE PROGRAM
Our School will now be part of the food waste program which is an initiative our school district is trying to incorporate to reduce food waste. Students received a training during a presentation this Thursday, April 10th so they know how to appropriately dispose of their food during lunch.

CAASPP Testing window for Roosevelt opens on April 21, 2025. We will begin testing starting April 29, 2025. Please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep, charges their Chromebook at night, eats breakfast, comes to school on time, and brings their Chromebook and charger daily.

As we prepare for testing season, it's essential that students take good care of their Chromebooks and chargers. Please remind them to keep their devices safe, handle them responsibly, and always charge them overnight so they're ready for school each day. A fully charged Chromebook is a key tool for success during testing, and we want every student to be prepared and confident. Thank you for your support in helping our students stay ready!👨🏻💻

NO Cell Phones Policy
As part of our dual obligation to educate students and ensure their safety when at school, Vista Unified has updated its cell phone policies for the 2024-25 school year. Elementary and middle school students will be prohibited from using personal electronic devices, such as cell phones and smart watches, while on school campus. Students in grades TK-8th grade will be required to turn off all personal devices and store them away in their backpacks while on campus.
