CHS Weekly Update #25
April 29, 2024
LET THE SENIOR FESTIVITIES BEGIN!
PROM SPIRIT WEEK, SENIOR AWARDS, PROM, LAST DAY FOR SENIORS, GRADUATION
Happy Monday! This week truly marks the beginning of the last month of the year, and a large part of May is dedicated to making sure our seniors are ready to graduate and have had their last opportunities to say goodbye. We will host our annual awards night on Wednesday, and our seniors earning the seal of bi-literacy will be celebrated at CMU on Thursday night. Friday will be a senior BBQ, and Saturday night is prom! Next week, the last day of classes for seniors is Wednesday, May 8th. As you can see, time is flying by, and before you know it, the school year will be over.
For those of you with students who will be attending prom. It is a dance for 11th and 12th graders, although sometimes a 9th or 10th grader is also asked to go. If any student is bringing a guest from another school, those guest passes must be signed and in the front office by Thursday. Also, students must have 75% attendance, meet CHSAA eligibility requirements for grades, and not be on the discipline list to be able to attend the dance. Lists will be posted today (Monday). We will also be conducting visual searches inside handbags/purses/coats at the door to ensure the safety and well being of all attending the dance. We want this dance to be a great experience for all!!!
On Wednesday, the CMU Mav Bus will be stopping by CHS to congratulate all seniors who plan to become Mavericks. There will be gift cards to the bookstore, live music, and lots of swag! It is a fun celebration for our seniors, and that starts at 9 AM on Wednesday.
On Thursday, during Advisory, Officer Hand has planned a Military Signing Day for all of our seniors who plan to go into the military. There will be a ceremony to recognize and honor these students who are pursuing the military after high school. This will be held in front of the school, starting at 9:35.

Next week is scheduling week for next year's sophomores(current freshmen) to provide them with the training and scheduling materials necessary to enter their desired schedules for next year. This is a very exciting change, but does require that you talk with your students about the best choices for course selection!
ADMINISTRATION
ADMINISTRATION: Please remember to drive safely in the parking lot, be on time to your classes, follow the dress code, and be kind to your fellow students. Staying in class is the best place for you to be, and we are counting on you to finish strong for the semester!!!
Remember to wear your Student ID Badges...random Badge Checkpoints will be happening weekly, so don't get caught without your badge. Students without their badges may have to spend time in detention or ISS if they do not have their badges or wristbands visible.
