This Week at École OLPH School
November 20 to 24, 2023
Our Mission Statement
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School
Our Lady of Perpetual Help school is committed to quality education in both official languages fostering in our students respect for life and learning as Christ taught us.
Principal Message
This week, we kicked off and renewed the House System we began last year, with a revisioning of names, after important Catholic saints. House Systems exist to promote relationships and community, as well as a friendly sense of competition as these student groups vie for the House Cup.
On Friday, November 17, students were sorted into one of the four Houses, in which they will remain for their time with us at OLPH. Those Houses are:
Seton House: Named after St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, an important saint for education.
Newman House: Named after St. John Henry Newman, an important promoter of Catholicism
Aquinas House: Named after St. Thomas Aquinas, a medieval Doctor of the Church
Kateri House: Named after St. Kateri Tekakwitha, an Indigenous saint and a woman of great love
We're very excited to get this valuable system rolling again. Take a moment to enjoy some pictures below of our House Sorting event.

A Reading from the Gospel for Sunday, November 19, 2023
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew 25:14-15, 19-21
Jesus said, “For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them; to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.
After a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. Then the one who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you handed over to me five talents; see, I have made five more talents.’
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into the joy of your master.”
The Gospel of the Lord.
