Principal's Message
Good afternoon Mira Loma Families,
Our thirteenth week of school was highlighted by multiple performances from Mira Loma High School students in the community!
On Saturday, 11/9/2024, our Dragon and Lion Dance Group had the honor of performing at the International Peace Festival held at Rancho Cordova City Hall. On Monday, 11/11/2024, the Dragon and Lion Dance Group was invited to join the Folsom Veteran Parade, where our students were thrilled to perform and bring vibrant energy to the event. It was a meaningful way to show our appreciation and respect for our veterans. On Wednesday, 11/13/2024, our Concert Choir and Big Steppas performed at the Sacramento Kings game. These events provided our students with valuable opportunities to engage with the community. Thank you to all of our performers for representing Mira Loma High School, and to our Dragon and Lion Dance Advisor, Bihyuan Yang, and Band and Choir Director, Mrs. Sonia Takanikos, for your leadership and hard work to make these performances a success!
On Wednesday morning of this week, our Senior students met in the cafeteria for our annual Fall Senior Forum Meeting! Seniors received information regarding Important Dates, Counseling Reminders and Updates, Reminders of Support Resources Available, Cap and Gown Information from Jostens for Graduation, a timeline of Senior Events and Activities, Expectations for Senior Attendance at School, and information regarding Senior Portraits. Thank you to all of our Seniors for attending, and to our students, counselors, and staff who presented information!
Additionally, on Wednesday morning of this week, we held our second Safety Team Meeting of 2024-25. Thank you to all who attended and shared your feedback and suggestions regarding school safety at Mira Loma High School. We encourage families to continue to have discussions with your children about school safety and how to report if they have knowledge of a concern. Please see the yellow “Safety First” icon below for additional information about how to report a concern. We look forward to continuing our conversations about school safety and growing our partnerships with students and families, in an effort to keep our campus safe.
Our Winter Sports season is upon us! I would like to take this opportunity to thank athletes, coaches, and parents for dedicating your time and energy to representing our school in a positive manner and we look forward to your partnership during the Winter Sports season. Your commitment and participation is much appreciated and valued! As competitions begin in the coming weeks, please consider attending and supporting our Winter Sports teams!
Please reference our Mira Loma Student Government Newsletter below for important information and upcoming events being organized by Student Government.
Thank you for your partnership and dedication to Mira Loma High School and I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
