All proceeds will go to support our music, gym and library programs and other school-wide initiatives to enhance our students' learning experiences.

Thank you so much for your generous support of our Marble Slab ice cream fundraiser for United Way on Thursday! We are thrilled to share that we raised $471.95 for this important cause!

A special thank you to Mrs. Weir for her incredible effort in organizing the event and for all her hard work in making it a success.

We truly appreciate the continued support from our wonderful school community!

Here's what's happening at JD for extra-curricular activities currently:

-Pimary Choir (Grades 1-3) - practicing at second nutrition break

-Junior / Intermediate Choir (Grade 4-8) - practicing at first nutiriton break

-JD Band - practicing at second break

-Intramural Soccer - Grades 6,7 and 8 - daily games each morning break. Finished yesterday.

-Girls Intermediate Basketball (Grade 7 and 8) - practicing at lunch

-Boys Intermediate Basketball (Grade 7 and 8) - practicing at lunch (A big shout out to Coach Faser!)

A huge congratulations to all of our runners that competed on Tuesday for TVDSB’s final cross country meet against students across the valley. Congratulations to Ben, Joon, Emily, Elise, Zian, Tim, Gwen, Will, Andrew, Natalie, Fraser and Ryan!

A special mention to Claire in grade 4 who placed 2nd and to Molly in grade 7 who placed 4th! Well done runners!

A special thanks to Mrs. Torres, Mrs. Willis, Mrs Carter and Mrs. Adams who helped coach this year, along with Mr. Gale who helped out as well!

We are now in the process of creating a mural in recognition of our donors who very generously supported our Kindergarten Playground. If you have donated, please review the list attached below to ensure that your name appears as you would like it displayed on the mural. We would like to kindly remind everyone that dogs are not permitted on the school poperty, including the yard at any time - this includes weekends and evenings. While we know many of you enjoy spending time in our beautiful outdoor space, we have some families who are hesitant to use the yard after hours due to concerns about off-leash dogs. We want to ensure that our school grounds are a welcoming and safe space for everyone. Pleae help us maintain this by respecting the no-dogs policy, and kindly encourage others to do the same! Thank you!

October 31st - SPIRIT DAY - dress in an appropriate costume (no weapons for accessories, please!) or Orange and Black!

November 4th - 6:30pm- School Council meeting in the school library. All are welcome!

November 1st - Hot Lunch - Byron Pizza

November 8th - Hot Lunch - Marshall's Pasta ( nuggets, subs, macaroni and cheese)

• Progress Reports go home

November 11th - Remembrance Day assembly at 9:30am in the gym. Parents and families are welcome to join us as we recognize and honour this very important day.

November 14th - Spirit Day - Jersey Day. (Wear your favourite jersey!)

November 15th - PD Day - Families will be able to schedule a time to meet the classroom teacher on this day, or potentially on Thursday evening (November 14th) to discuss progress reports. Stay tuned for a sign up link coming home in the days ahead.
