Schools will either attend the Daysland afternoon event or encouraged to visit with their families to the evening event at ECCHS. This is a great event housed in one location so we hope to see you there!
I haven't heard anything from my post-secondary applications? What should I do?
Each institution has a different process for assessing applications.
- Check your PERSONAL and Post-Secondary EMAILS!
- Most schools will give you an ID number and a portal, even if you are on a waitlist or do not qualify for admission yet.
- It is common for a flood of offers to happen in late February into March. Be patient!
- Watch your personal email or post-secondary portals and be sure you are completing all the necessary admission requirements.
- If you only applied to one institution, you may want to consider a second and third choice of schools that has lower requirements and apply.

Studying Self Care | Tips to start reviewing over the break!
- Create a schedule for an hour or two a day of review. Make a study plan!
- Set a timer for a 1/2 to 45 minutes to focus. Eliminate any distractions (noise and phone) and focus on only a couple of outcomes at a time. Then take a reasonable break to eat or recharge.
- If you make study cards, read the notes OUT LOUD. This helps your brain process the information in multiple ways.
- For math, physics, and chemistry - PRACTICE QUESTIONS! Your workbooks should be full!
- Social studies involves the memorization of material as well, plus making connections to real world situations. Try to make connections to current events and consider creating your own set of multiple choice questions from the content.
- Practice multiple choice questions by covering up the answers, and then create your answer from the stem of the question and check the correct answer.
- During a test, consider brain dumping (write key notes all over your exam when you first enter the room) of facts that you retained.
- Studying before bed should be just passive review, not a cramming session. FAIL TO PLAN, you PLAN TO FAIL.
