English Village Family Edition

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPALS:
Greetings, EV Families!
We hope that you are all well and have enjoyed the weekend. It was an interesting week with the extra day off on Wednesday.
What a reminder that it is still Winter. The weather has definitely been inconsistent, but once in a while we are reminded that we live in Western NY.
This is a good time to provide a reminder to make sure that your children/our students are dressed appropriately for the weather so that they stay safe and comfortable.
Please remember that there are times where classes go outside for recess, even in the Winter (however, definitely not when we have the arctic cold that we just had). Students will only be able to do so when they have appropriate gear for the weather conditions.
This also makes us think about other ways that you can ensure that your children/our students are best prepared for school. Please make sure that they come to school with the tools necessary to be successful. Thankfully, we are at the primary level, where students don’t need a lot to be ready for school.
It is as simple as making sure to check their book bags each and every night for any flyers/notices that require attention/action. Also, please make sure that your children read for at least 20 minutes each night as well as practice their Math facts.
As always, we are here for all of you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can be of any support. We sincerely thank you for your ongoing partnership and dedication to your children’s/our students’ success. Take care and have a great week!
Sincerely,
Jason Lewis

Thank you to the Greece Education Foundation (GEF) and also the EV PTA for sponsoring taking our 2nd grade students to the Strong Museum of Play. They participated in a lesson about butterflies and were able to visit the butterfly conservatory. This lesson linked to their current insect lesson they are doing in ARC reading/writing. They also had the opportunity to visit different exhibits at the museum adventures in reading, Wegmans shopping, level up gaming and view the aquarium ecosystem.
