Section School Newsletter
November 2024
Dear Section Families,
As we enter the month of November, a time traditionally associated with gratitude and reflection, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for our school community. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the many ways we can show gratitude to one another and the impact it has on our lives.
I am deeply thankful for our dedicated teachers, who inspire and nurture our students every day, fostering a love for learning and personal growth. I also want to acknowledge our wonderful staff and parents who support our mission and contribute to making our school a welcoming and vibrant place. Your involvement and enthusiasm are vital to our success, and I am grateful for the partnership we share.
May this November be filled with warmth, joy, and gratitude.

Revised Plan to Replace Park View Middle School on November 5 Ballot
On November 5, a referendum for a mix of new construction and renovation of the 1993 section of Park View Middle School will appear on the ballot. The new plan would create 210,000 square feet of new construction and renovate 32,400 square feet of space. In total, 87% of the facility would be new construction.
The plan would create space to serve 1,200 6th-8th grade students, classrooms and labs for science, technology, engineering, and math courses, a flexible space for student performances, and a gymnasium and fitness area for students and community use.
The tax impact of the plan is $24 for every $100,000 of property value. This is a reduced impact from the April referendum question due to borrowing $13.2 million less, a downward trend in interest rates for public bonds/loans, and prepaying referendum debt for Mukwonago High School, putting the district on pace to have it paid off seven years ahead of schedule.

Or, click here to learn about how to vote in the November election, including how to vote early or the location of your polling place. And don’t forget to turn over your ballot when you vote as the PVMS referendum question could be on the back!
End of Day Dismissal Re-check
Kindergarten - 3rd grade please review your child's backpack tag and double check that the information is still correct.
If your child's plan for dismissal plan is going to be different than his/her usual way of getting home, you MUST SEND A PINK NOTE informing the teacher of your expectations for that day. If your plans change unexpectedly during the day, you may call the office prior to 2:30 p.m to give us this information. Please remember that changes are confusing for many children and disruptive to teachers at the last minute. If we do not have notification of a change from a parent, we will have to send your child home following the plan we were given at the beginning of the year.
Thank you for your cooperation.
6th Grade Newspaper Club is back!
PTG News
Wow, this Fall has been off to a busy start! Thank you to all volunteers between Section 60, Sandwiches with Someone Special, and the Scholastic Book Fair. We couldn’t put on these events without you. We were able to raise over $16,000 during Section 60! While we didn’t reach our goal, we still had a strong showing. Section 60 receipts should be coming home in this week’s Friday folders. Thank you to all who donated! If you don’t get a receipt, but know that you should have, please contact sesptgpres@gmail.com.
Holiday Adopt-a-Family flyers will also be coming home in this week’s Friday Folder. Section families have always been so generous in coming together to sponsor gifts for a family in need during the holiday season. Money donations will be collected November 4th- December 6th to Stuff the Stocking.
Lastly, enjoy dinner out on November 25th at Section night at Qdoba! No one wants to cook the week of Thanksgiving, so let Qdoba do the work and support Section PTG at the same time. 25% of the sales will be donated to help support the programs at Section that your children love.
Support the PTG and get Qdoba dinner for the family!
Parking Lot Safety Reminders
Morning Drop-off Line:
This is a safety first reminder to please adhere to the the stop sign and come to a full stop in the morning drop off line. Not only does this ensure safety of the students exiting the vehicles in line, we also have students who need to be dropped off in the parking lot at the end of the drop off line and walked to the building by an adult due to special circumstances. An example of this would be injury that may not allow a student to easily depart from a bus or car in the drop off line. To keep this area as clear of congestion as possible for those circumstances, students who do not require extra assistance should be dropped off in the line using the zipper merge, entering off of Section Road.
Afternoon Pick Dismissal:
Parents who pick-up their child(ren) at the end of the school day must meet their student(s) under the main entrance vestibule. Students do not have permission to enter the parking lot without adult supervision. Use the crosswalks located at the north and south end of the sidewalk to access the parking lot and please do not exit the sidewalk to walk through the bus lane.
Thank you for your attention to the safety of our students here at Section!
