Potato Picking Success!
Thank you to Tyonek Tribal Conservation District for hosting an amazing Potato Harvesting with our school and community last week! We plucked over 200 pounds of potatoes and our students and families had a super time working together. This long standing tradition has always brought us together, and we're grateful for another successful harvest! We can't wait for spring time for seed starts!
The KPBSD Calendar Committee recently met to set the KPBSD calendar for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school years. As part of this process, the committee is seeking input from KPBSD stakeholders and the community regarding the timing of Spring Break. To balance the number of instructional days in the third and fourth quarters, the committee is recommending adjusting Spring Break to the third week of March. Traditionally, Spring Break begins during the second week of March and coincides with the UAA Spring Break. Your feedback is important to us! Please take a moment to complete this brief two-question survey. The survey will close on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 4:00 PM. In our ongoing commitment to prioritize the health and well-being of our students and staff, we want to inform you about our KPBSD Symptom-Free Protocol. This protocol is designed to create a safer environment for everyone by minimizing the risk of the spread of illnesses. We kindly request that you ensure your child is symptom-free before sending them to school each day. This includes checking for common symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, and difficulty breathing. If your child exhibits any of these symptoms or has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for an infectious illness, we strongly encourage you to keep them at home, and consult with the clinic. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter, as the collective efforts of our school community are crucial in maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all.
Remindar to parents and guardians to please update your child(ren)'s information and permissions or new/ returning students for the 2024-2025 school year! Please follow this link to update:-)

The Safe School Helpline is provided to allow students, parents and community members the ability to confidentially submit report threats of violence, suicide, bullying or illegal activity that impact KPBSD schools, students, or staff. This service provides users the opportunity to leave a message or speak with a live crisis counselor for immediate needs. The helpline is administered by an independent, outside company. All communications remain private, confidential, and anonymous.
