Dear Robert Hunter Families,

This past Friday, 4th grade students in Ms. Pinto and Ms. Drew’s classes led our first whole school meeting. They did an amazing job! Leading up to the whole school meeting, we read aloud the book Isabel and Her Colores Go To School to all classes. This book teaches us that we can communicate with each other and make everyone feel welcome, no matter what language we speak. We concluded our meeting without a school-wide coloring project throughout the RH hallways, writing positive and welcoming messages that will be displayed in our school.


Students in grades 1-4 have recently completed their NWEA MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing. This assessment provides valuable insights into your child's academic progress and growth throughout the school year. Test scores will be available in the Genesis Parent Portal on October 4th.


Thank you to everyone who joined our first PTO meeting and to all of our parent volunteers! We truly appreciate the efforts of all of our volunteers who help to make school amazing for our students!

STEM at Home

Ms. Tremel (STEM, G&T Math, and Stretch teacher) will offer STEM challenges for students to try at home. Check out the challenge for this month here. Please send a picture of your finished project by October 30. We will highlight some of the designs in our next newsletter!

A Note from Mrs. Cunniff, School Nurse:


Hi Parents! This is just a reminder to send in your child's Epinephrine and or rescue inhaler (Albuterol, Ventolin, Proventil) along with the required physician orders if your child has a severe food/ bee sting allergy or asthma. If your child has been cleared of these diagnoses, please provide a note from the doctor. All medication forms can be found on the FRSD website. Halloween Costume Drive

3rd Graders in Mrs. Hadzimichalis’s class are running a Halloween costume drive. Please see the flyer below. Families can drop off costume donations at Robert Hunter by Oct. 9, and families can pick up costumes Oct. 10 from 4:00-5:00.

If any of families are interested in being a Teacher’s Assistant or Substitute, please consider applying! Substitutes are needed for classroom teachers, teacher assistants, and cafeteria aides. You can also reach out to Mrs. Braynor and Mrs. Shirvanian if you have any questions!

It was great to connect with many new and returning Robert Hunter families at our PTO meeting last Tuesday. Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, November 12 at 6pm. We hope that you can join us!

Paper Towel and Toilet Paper Tube Collection - now through September 30

Ms. Tremel's maker space club is in need of paper towel and toilet paper tubes. Kindly submit items to the front office in a bag labeled maker space through September 30.

24th Annual RH Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser - Friday, October 25th

Walk-a-thon season is here and fundraising has kicked off! Our "RH is the place to BEE!" walk-a-thon is coming up on October 25th, and we are excited to make this year's event our biggest fundraiser to date. This event occurs during the school day, and we're excited to be able to once again welcome parent volunteers to come cheer on the kids. Stay tuned for sign-ups in the coming weeks. Please note that for safety reasons only registered volunteers will be able to join the event.

After School Enrichment Club Registration Begins October 2

Get ready to "fall" into fun at our after school enrichment clubs. Enrollment registration opens promptly at 9:00pm on October 2nd for students who have not participated in a club prior. Returning students can begin registering October 3 at https://roberthunterelem.membershiptoolkit.com/. For ease of dismissal, please ensure that student grade and homeroom teacher information is up to date in the membership toolkit database.

Halloween Family Fun Night - October 11 (Rain Date October 18th)

We hope that you can join us for our first annual trunk or treat. There will be a DJ, 50/50, mummy raffle, dessert trucks, pizza and other concessions for sale. We encourage families to add to the fun by donating treats and.or decorating trunks HERE. Please reach out to Sherri Biniaros (sbiniaros@gmail.com) or Madison Rosa (mmiller0509@icloud.com) if you can design a spooky trail or solicit pumpkin donations from local retailers.

Clothing Drive & Swap - Rescheduled October 5

Due to weather, our clothing drive and swap event has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 5 from 9am-12pm. All donations will directly benefit our school community. Sign up to help sort items and/or load the truck HERE.
