Principal's Message
Dear Viking Families,
I hope you had an opportunity to review your child's mid-trimester progress report this month! If you have any questions please contact your student's teacher. You will receive your student's end of the trimester progress report on Friday, November 8. Our teacher's have participated in two excellent professional learning days with the next one scheduled on Friday, November 1. Classes will not be in session for students.
Our 5th graders participated in an assembly titiled, A Dose of Reality to commit to a drug free life & our 2nd graders headed over to the Pumpkin Patch! By the end of the month, a couple more grade levels will also enjoy the Pumpkin Patch. Dance and art classes are underway while our 5th grade, Jr. City Corp students are keeping our school garden & campus clean!
This week will be Red Ribbon/Character Counts Week at Haycox! The theme is "Be kind to your mind, be drug free!" See the schedule to participate in the fun activities. This week teachers will also be focusing on getting our 3-5 grade students familiar with the California Assessment of Student Performance & Progress (CAASPP), an assessment taken in the Spring.
Thank you to all of you who participated in the School Site Council and English Learner Advisory Council nominations and ballots. At Haycox, we are committed to keeping our Vikings safe as they learn & have fun!
