We are currently working on our 2024 Veterans Day Program and as with previous years, we are asking that you send in pictures of the Veterans in your families. Please email pictures to kayla.robles@vpsb.net no later than October 18th, so that we can celebrate all the Veterans who have been a part of our Dozier family.

This month's Bobcat Bonus is "Favorite Sports Shirt". Students can wear their favorite sports shirt on Thursdays in October for 3 Bobcat Bucks! Bucks will be collected on Wednesdays, and your child will receive a Bobcat Bonus Card in their Bobcat folder if they can participate.

• Shirts can represent ANY sport- football, basketball, Team LA, Voodoo Cheer, Saints, LSU, UL, etc.

• Jerseys can be worn with a t-shirt underneath if they are sleeveless/netted/etc.
  

• Students must wear uniform bottoms.

  
  

The following is from the Vermilion Parish Handbook and will be adhered to for this special event:

Tops – See- through, tight fitting, or that which exposes the mid-section are prohibited. This shall include, but not be limited to halter tops, crop tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps, noodle straps, and mesh tops, etc.

If you are unsure, please bring the shirt to the office and ask. Our number one priority is always education and these special events allow us to celebrate good behavior and have a direct impact on our ability to teach and learn at Dozier.

We are excited to announce an additional Book Fair date for families!

On Wednesday, October 16th guardians who wish to share the Book Fair experience with their child will be allowed to do so immediately following their scheduled parent teacher conference here on campus. Students can be dropped off in the gym prior to your conference to begin browsing our selection. At the conclusion of your conference, you can join your child in the gym to shop together!

Please follow the guidelines listed below:

Students must be brought to the gym prior to your scheduled conference.

Students cannot accompany parents to their conferences.

Items must be paid in full at the time of purchase.

The book fair is limited to Dozier Elementary Students only.

Come experience the limitless possibilities with your kids. Every purchase benefits our school.

On Friday, November 8th, the PBIS Committee will be hosting a Magic Show for students following school rules and exhibiting the school’s expectations. Mitch the Magician will be joining us on campus for two amazing shows to reward our students!

Students with no office referrals and no more than 1 infraction from September 23rd to November 7th will be invited to attend.

Please encourage your child to follow our school rules and expectations so they can attend this exciting event!

1. MORNING DROP OFF

Students are not allowed on campus prior to 7:30am. Walkers should NOT enter the campus until after the 7:30 bell rings. All students MUST be dropped off in the car rider line, in the back of school, in the morning. Students should not be dropped off in the teacher parking lot, or the side streets near the front of the school. Vehicles must enter the car rider line on Caldwell. Vehicles cannot enter the line, or block traffic on Kiddie.

2. AFTERNOON DISMISSAL

Our campus dismisses at 3:10. All car riders must be picked up by 3:30pm. Please ensure you enter the car rider line no later than 3:25pm. Please display your car rider sign in your front windshield when you enter the car rider line. We ask that you leave the sign in your windshield until your child is in that car. This will help the teachers who are loading students identify the correct vehicles to guide students to their vehicles.

3. UNIFORMS

Students in 1st- 5th grade must wear uniform bottoms (pants and shorts) with belt loops. Belts must be worn in 1st - 5th grade and shirts must be tucked in at all times. Students in Prek and K may wear elastic waist bottoms.
