The Week Ahead

DECA has had a lot of amazing activities over the two weeks. We attended our state leadership development conference January 30th where Luis Garcia completed in job interview, Michelle Barron in food service marketing, Samantha Tornez, Perla Soto, Elizabeth Vazquez, and Yoselin Pano competed in team decision making. They also participated in leadership workshops. The chapter was recognized for having over 50 members, receiving achievement level for membership, and Dr. Jackson for reaching 10 years of service as an Advisor.

DECA also participated in CTSO Day on Wednesday Feb. 5th at the capitol and they networked with legislators and other students from CTAE groups.

This week we will have DECA week and celebrate our wonderful organization.

Congratulations to Ms. Elswick, Ms. Larkin, and Ms. Vax for being selected to the AVID Certified Educator program.

Twelve DHSTN HOSA students took the Georgia HOSA's State Qualification Examination in competing for placement in our region.

Our Dental Science students swept the category for our region and will compete in the state competition March 6th - 8th.

Congratulations to Ana White, Science Teacher, for presenting at the Georgia Science Teachers Association Conference last week in Columbus, Ga. Her session was titled, "BioBuilder Club and Plasmid Design 101."
