Back to School Almond Thursday Word
Welcome to Almond School! 8/16/19
Message from the Principal
Dear Almond Families:
I am thrilled to be able to welcome Almond families (new and returning) to the 2019-20 school year! Our teachers and staff have already been busy scouring, arranging, assembling and putting on the last touches to our classrooms and campus as you and your family enjoy the last days of summer. (To get a little peek into the happenings of the Matteroli clan this summer, check out the pics below)
Last year, Almond students collaborated around “TEAMwork” (Together Everyone Learns More), participating in school-wide activities including the Cardboard Challenge, March Book Madness and the first Annual Almond Field Day. To continue the idea of community-building across the campus, we will be celebrating “Ohana,” which in Hawaiian means “family.” We will be infusing the idea of Ohana throughout each and every school day to promote the ideas of love, care and respect for all members of our Almond community.
Now, huddle in close because I’d like to let you in on a little secret. In the spirit of Ohana, our staff will be mixing things up for the first day of school. Between 8:10-8:25 next Wednesday, please make sure that your child(ren) walks through the rotunda, near the office. Almond teachers have lovingly conspired to create what we hope is a Peak moment to kick off the school year. We can't wait to see you on the first day.
Here’s to the 2019-20 school year of Ohana!
Raquel
