We made it through the first week of school with warm smiles and happy students and staff! We hope that your children have come home sharing all of the fun they have had! At Cashell, we pride ourselves on our open lines of communication and the connections we make with your families. If you have questions, concerns, or even a funny anecdote from your child, we would love to hear from you!

The Cashell Team

We are so thrilled to lead Cashell Elementary School. We have the BEST school in town!

Courtney Jones, Principal

Mrs. Jones is in her 21st year with MCPS, her 8th year as the principal at Cashell. She spent time throughout her career as a classroom teacher, staff development teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She grew up in Montgomery County and she spends her free time with her husband & 3 daughters. She loves watching and attending college sports!

Jen Brooking, Assistant School Administrator

Mrs. Brooking is in her 19th year with MCPS, her 2nd year as the ASA at Cashell. She spent time in her career as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and assistant school administrator. She grew up in Montgomery County and she spends her free time with her husband and 2 kids. She loves boating, the beach and all travel!

As a reminder there is no school on Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day. We will see our Cougars on Tuesday!

We are thrilled to share the date of our annual Grand-Friends Day, sponsored by our fantastic PTA. We welcome parents, grandparents, and elderly neighbors and family friends to the school blacktop to share lunch with your children and to mix and mingle with the community. Please bring a picnic blanket or chairs and your lunch and meet us out back!

All students will be outside for the full 1-hour lunch/recess block. They will eat first and play on the playground afterwards. Please see the schedule of when grade-levels will be outside.

We are thrilled to be hosting a STEM Career Day to compliment our Fall Science Fair. If you or someone you know is in the STEM field and would be willing to present to our awesome students, fill of this form to share your availability. We are looking for as many speakers as possible who would do three 20-30 minute presentation rotations with our classes. STEM day will be the morning of October 23rd. If you are able to help, Mrs. Brooking will be in touch after receiving the information on the form above!

If your child loses an item, please remind them to check our lost and found, located outside the media center.

In order to keep our records updated with emergency information for students, please see below about how to update your information on parentvue. Please review and update emergency contacts and phone numbers for each of your children.

If your child needs to have a cell phone or smartwatch during the school day, please submit this form acknowledging our expectations for usage.

If you would like an at-home chromebook, please fill out this form to request one.

If you would like your information to be kept private and not shared in MCPS directories, please fill out the form below. If you are ok with your information being published, no need to fill anything out!

We will be holding emergency drills throughout the year to make sure that all students and staff know what to do in the event of an emergency.

We had a fire drill this morning. We will be having an additional fire drill and a lockdown and shelter-in-place drill during the month of September.

If you would like your child to buy lunch at school this year, please sign up for a My School Bucks account. You will need your child's MCPS ID number. This is located on your parentvue account (the same account you registered your child for kindergarten with). When you log into parentvue you will see your child's name and ID in the upper corner. If you are having trouble locating it, please contact the main office and we can assist you with your child's ID number.

All field trips will be paid through School Cash Online.
