Safety Guidelines
Dear Families,
The past two weeks have been exciting times as we welcomed students back to ARK for 4 days of in-person instruction. As many of you are aware, the majority of our families have opted for 4 day in-person instruction. This means the number of students in the building during the day has increased significantly. As a friendly reminder, I’m sending out the safety /mitigation practices that everyone on school grounds must follow.
The safety guidelines include:
- Wearing masks that cover the nose and mouth at all times. The only exception is when students are eating snack or taking a drink.
- Maintaining 6 feet social distancing, whenever possible.
We will continue to remind students of the safety guidelines. Your support in speaking with your child about the protocols and reasons why they are in place is appreciated.
Your child's teacher will contact you if your child is having difficulty following the safety protocols.
Our goal is to keep everyone safe!
I'm so grateful for all of your continued support and efforts during this unique school year.
Warm Regards,
Mr. Park

A Message from Our Nurse, Mrs. Hawthorne
As we return to in class instruction:
Please keep in mind that as we return to in-class instruction, there will be daily items for you to remember to help your child return safely.
1. Each morning please complete the latest Covid-19 At Home Screening checklist for each child in your family. Please follow the instructions concerning Symptoms, Suspected COVID-19 Exposure, Travel and Quarantine.
If you plan to travel over Spring Break please email your teacher and the School Nurse (Ahawthorne@chclc.org). There are quarantine guidelines we will follow.
2. Because school will be a four hour day with only one snack, please have your child eat a nourishing breakfast.
Send a water bottle daily.
We ask that snack be: nut and peanut free, dry, easy to open and easy to eat
Students will eat outdoors as often as possible, as this will also be a “mask break” for them.
Your child's teacher may request something for students to sit on, other classes stand (6 foot distanced) to eat.
3. Please dress appropriately for the weather as we will be outdoors as often as possible for PE and 6 ft distanced snack time.
4. Masks. All students are to wear one on the bus and into the school building. Please practice with your child how to wear it appropriately over both nose and mouth. Students should know that they are to keep the mask on at all times unless their teacher directs them to take it off to eat. Masks with vents are not allowed in the school.
Please pack at least one extra mask in their backpack in a plastic bag that they can change into should theirs become wet. Students are to keep mask on if they sneeze or cough and may then change to a dry mask if needed.
5. Chromebook - please make sure it is fully charged each night as there is limited space for recharging in the classrooms. If your child's device doesn’t hold a charge, also pack the charger daily.
