PYLUSD Board of Education Celebrates 42 Community Honorees in Annual Ceremony
On May 20, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board of Education hosted a heartwarming event to celebrate the 42 Community Honorees at the Forum Theater at Yorba Linda High School. This annual tradition honors the remarkable contributions of volunteers from each of the district’s 34 school sites, along with the adult education program.
Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Hosts Annual Induction Showcase for 92 Teachers
On Tuesday, May 21, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District held its annual Induction Showcase at Lakeview Elementary School in Yorba Linda. In California, new teachers must complete a two-tiered credentialing system that includes coursework, fieldwork, and a two-year induction program providing extensive support and mentoring. School districts are tasked with offering induction programs to guide teachers towards a comprehensive understanding of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession. Upon completion, teachers earn a California Clear Credential.
Valencia High School Honors Fallen Heroes at 40th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony
On Thursday, May 23, Valencia High School commemorated its 40th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony, honoring United States military personnel who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation. The ceremony was attended by Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board members, administrators, community members, local veterans, active military personnel, families, and students.
