Principal's Message
Thomas Families,
Brrrr! It’s been a frigid week! Here are some reminders about our cold weather procedures in Dublin.
Recess
Recess is outdoors if the “feels like” temperature is above 20 degrees. That’s still pretty cold! Please make sure your child is dressed to be outside for a thirty minute recess in 20 degree weather. If the “feels like” temperature dips below 20 degrees, recess will be indoors.
Winter Weather Procedures
Sometimes, the weather can be so severe that it requires school closure or a two hour delay. In this case, families will be notified by voice call, email, or text message through School Messenger (the service that sends this school newsletter, or texts when a bus is running late). You can also check the district website or local news outlets. If there is a two hour delay, the start of the day is pushed back exactly two hours, and that applies to school bus pick up times, too. The day will end at the normal time.
Stay warm, and go Tigers!

DECEMBER SPECIAL EVENTS
See the PTO section below for more information about these special events happening in the next two weeks:
PTO Movie Night (December 13, sign up now!)
Winter Parties (some classrooms still need volunteers, or donations!)
Krispy Kreme fundraiser (can be used at any location, and ends next Friday)
JACKPOT DAY
We had a “Jackpot Day” on Thursday! Remember, a Jackpot Day is a surprise for students: any student who had earned a TIGER ticket that day for making good choices got called down at the end of the day for a surprise reward. This time, it was a Thomas Tattoo Parlor!

SCHOOL HOURS
As a reminder, the school day begins at 9:00 and ends at 3:40. While we know emergencies happen, we are not able to supervise students who arrive before 9:00 or are picked up late– our staff members have before and after school obligations. Thank you for your effort to honor the times of our school day.
