The information is collected to support Federal Impact Aid funding and is kept confidential. Impact Aid funds are designated to assist school districts that enroll federally-connected students. This includes children of active duty uniformed services personnel, children who live on federal property or in subsidized federal housing, and children whose parents are employed on eligible federal property.

Impact Aid funds become part of the district's general operating budget and support instructional activities for all students.

At your next opportunity, we ask you to please sign-in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and complete the short survey, following the steps below:

• Select Forms from the left-hand navigation menu, then select 2024-25 Impact Aid Program Survey Form under Annual Forms.

• Follow the prompts and submit the form. Please be sure a confirmation appears before logging off.

• If you need assistance, or do not yet have a Parent Portal account, please contact Vella Rogers at erogers1@sandi.net. Visit our support website for more information.

• For parents using the PowerSchool mobile app, you can submit the survey using the app.

We ask that you complete the Federal Impact Aid Survey by November 15th. Students will also receive a paper survey to bring home. Families may choose to complete either the electronic or paper survey.

By completing the survey, you will increase the chances of your child’s school receiving more of this valuable funding.

We are kicking off our partnership with ECC NEXT SEMESTER! We are starting with an HVAC program. Here are the details:

1. 20 Positions available for the Lincoln HS Class of 2025 students in Second Semester

2. HVAC Program is a one semester program (2 classes)

1. Students would complete BOTH required classes between Jan and June 2025

2. Students will graduate with an HVAC Certificate at the end of the program

3. EEC will provide support and tutorials to prepare all students for the exit test.

4. ECC will work to confirm guaranteed interviews for jobs for any student who successfully finishes the program

5. ECC will provide interview and resume support

3. Students will be entered into an ‘internship’ class led by Lori Williams to track their attendance/expectation

The Hive was TRULY alive this weekend as Robotics teams took over the gym and the parking lot to face off in pre-season battles in preparation for the upcoming build season.

This weekend, our Steel Stinger Robotics Team hosted the Battle at the Border FIRST Robotics Competition. We are SO PROUD of our team for hosting an event that welcomed 34 teams from around the state and the nation -- and DOING IT IN THEIR SECOND YEAR! I was able to visit to watch some matches and be interviewed by the Qualcomm team who are doing a special video piece spotlighting our VERY SPECIAL team! I will share the video once I get it. The leadership of FIRST were so thrilled to be able to bring a full competition to Southeast San Diego -- a FIRST OF ITS KIND event trailblazed by our very own Steel Stingers.

We are pleased to announce that the San Diego Unified CHOICE Application Priority Window is now open! From September 23rd to November 4th, families throughout San Diego County can explore a variety of unique schools, programs, and classes that cater to diverse interests and needs.

This is a wonderful opportunity to discover specialty and magnet schools that focus on the arts, STEAM, languages, and more. During this application period, parents can select up to three school choices. Lottery results will be communicated via email in February 2025.
