Superintendents Comments and Reports to the Board of Education
Superintendent Dr. Shari Camhi shared the following updates:

The opening of the 2024-2025 school year went very smoothly. Children were all smiles and were welcomed with love and care by building staff. We look forward to another great year in Baldwin schools!
Dr. Camhi expressed gratitude to Dr. Michelle Gallo and her team for facilitating a seamless hiring process as many new faces have joined the district this year and are thriving.

Baldwin High School is excited to present a production of "The Unsinkable Molly Brown." Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Andre Poprilo, Mrs. Tricia Wilder, and Dr. Gabriella Franza, the district has secured a $10,000 grant to fund many of the materials and the script for this performance. This initiative is sponsored by the Educational Theatre Association in collaboration with Musical Theatre International.

Over the past few weeks, the district has been featured in multiple media outlets, showcasing the important work we are doing here in Baldwin schools.

Highlights of 2023-2024 and Summer 2024
Mr. Anthony Mignella, assistant superintendent for instruction, along with the administrative staff from the district's summer and enrichment programs presented Highlights from the 2023-2024 & Summer of 2024, which showcased the districts impressive graduation rates as well as the numerous academic and enrichment programs offered throughout the year. The high school's current graduation rate is 99%.
Mr. Mignella shared advanced placement trends as well as information on the NYSED Performance-Based Learning and Assessment Networks (PLAN) Pilot, highlighting that Baldwin High School is the only Nassau County school selected for the program. Mr. Mignella emphasized that the following summer programs would not have been possible without the staff members dedicated to running them:
- Wellness Center Summer Programs
- JumpStart K-2 presented by Tom Duffy
- Baldwin Middle School Summer Program presented by Teresa Leite
- Baldwin High School Secondary Summer School Program presented by Rosemarie Socci
- ENL and ESY presented by Melanie Hirsch
- Summer Arts Enrichment Partnership with BFOMA and Atlantic Wind Symphony presented by Andre Poprilo
