MAP Testing Begins This Week for 1st-5th Grade

MAP tests allow us to assess student growth. While students cannot study at home to prepare, they can prepare by getting a good night of sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and arriving to school on time.

12/9 - 5th Grade Reading MAP

12/10 - 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grade Reading MAP & 1st Grade Math MAP

12/11 - 2nd Grade Math MAP

12/12 - 3rd & 5th Grade Math MAP

12/13 - 4th Grade Math MAP

Congratulations to our FLL Robotics Team!

This weekend one of our FLL Robotics teams, the Seagle Bots, participated in the State Championship Tournament at JMU (after advancing on from the Regional Tournament). They have worked so hard, and earned 2nd place in Core Values!

The robotics team is thankful for all of the support from our mentor, Richard Carchman; Mr. Meiller; Central Office, and the GEF!

Goochland Restaurant Reading Incentive Program

The Goochland Restaurant feels passionate about encouraging reading throughout our community! They are sponsoring a reading incentive program that is similar to the BOOK-IT Program many adults loved once-upon-a-time! Goochland students will receive a bookmark to track their reading. Once students have read 8 books, then they can turn the completed bookmark into the Goochland Restaurant in exchange for a free drink AND their choice of fries, onion rings, or a cookie! The best part is that students are not limited to just one bookmark! They can complete multiple bookmarks!

Please notify the office about transportation changes via email at beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us. If you have daily transportation needs, please make sure you provide changes at the beginning of each week for the entire week. Please make sure you have all transportation changes in prior to 1:00 PM, this allows staff time to communicate all necessary changes and avoids confusion when a call is not received. We appreciate your support.

Parents who wish to chaperone a field trip or volunteer regularly in our school must submit to a background check every 2 years using the BIB portal. The process is completely electronic. If you are having problems with the system, contact Demetra Harris at dharris@glnd.k12.va.us.
