Student Absences
When your child is absent, there is no need to call the school. Please make sure you send a note with your student when he/she returns to school. Please find the link below to submit absence notes electronically.
https://www.berkeleycountyschools.org/o/bcs/page/absencenote
It is very important to submit a note or send a note for your student.
Also, when your child is absent, calls are made district-wide to let parents/guardians know. If you know that your child is home, you do not need to call the school. It is a courtesy call for families and mainly is applicable to older students, but is a district-wide system.
Congratulations to Mrs. Webb!
Mrs. Webb, third grade teacher, recently found out that she is now a Nationally Board Certified Teacher! This is quite an honor! A Nationally Board Certified Teacher is a teacher who has achieved a voluntary, advanced teaching credential through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), demonstrating a high level of competency in their subject area and teaching practices, exceeding the standards of a typical state teaching license by meeting rigorous national standards for accomplished teachers through a comprehensive assessment process. National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education. We are very proud of Mrs. Webb for achieving this certification! Congratulations to her!
