Happy Holidays....
As we approach the end of the year and the holiday season, I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with our wonderful community once again. It has been a semester filled with achievements, joy and challenges.
Students continue to shine. It has been a joy to watch them on the field and court. Our students put a lot of time and work into both academic and athletic achievement. It was also great to watch our band perform at Luca Oil. I know our students will continue to work hard and excel in their endeavors.
As we reflect on the past year and look ahead to the new one, let's encourage our students to set positive goals for themselves. Whether academically, personally, or socially, the new year is an opportunity for growth and development.
In closing, I want to express my gratitude to our entire school community for your resilience, support, and commitment to Carroll High School. May the holiday season bring you warmth, joy, and moments of togetherness.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

College Apps
2. Create account with Parchment.com & request transcript to be sent to colleges you apply to unless the college uses the common application and then student does not need parchment.
3. The counselor portion & transcript will then be completed & sent to these colleges by Mrs. McClure or Ms. Fox.
4. Make sure you are aware of the application deadlines. Your application needs to be completed at least a week before the deadline.
5. If you need a recommendation to go along with your application, choose someone who knows you well, tell them what it is for, and give them at least a week to complete it.
6. If you are in Career Exploration Internship, add that to your application if possible and explain what it is, how it works, and how it has benefited you. Some colleges may look at your transcript and see an Internship listed but not really know what it is all about.
Synchronous Learning
In the event that we need to cancel our regular school day, Northwest Allen County Schools will be implementing synchronous learning. This means that we will be providing live instruction to students on days when we are unable to attend onsite. Our hope is that this method for delivering instruction will better serve students and keep learning moving forward in a way that is more productive and engaging than simply posting videos and lessons. (Please Note: Should we have a weather cancellation during December 18th-21st, then we will utilize the December 22nd make-up date.)
The High School day will begin at 9:00 AM - 12:25 PM. Zero Hour students will login and report at 8:30 AM. Teachers have reviewed how to access their synchronous learning, how to access their google meets and how to reach them during office hours. Teachers will have office hours from 1:00 pm - 3:40 PM via email.
School-day expectations for students include:
Students are expected to attend each class and to remain in the Google Meet the entire class time.
If you are unable to attend class, you are still expected to view the recorded and fill out the attendance form.
If there is an emergency, teachers will have a Google Form for them to complete attendance
Students will have cameras on and their face will be visible
School dress code applies.
Students should create a work place conducive to learning (consider your environment)
“Passing Periods” are your time to use the restroom and take breaks.
Students will report to study hall and strategic instruction and complete attendance.
Teachers will have office hours from 1 pm -3:40 pm.
Library News
Our library inventory and checkout system is managed electronically through a program called Destiny. Students and parents can log-in to Destiny at any time to view the library books that are currently checked-out and the past check-out history. Destiny access for each building can be accessed through the district website at https://destiny.nacs.k12.in.us/ .
In order to access Destiny, parents and students use their district username (the first five letters of their last names followed by the first three letters of their first names (i.e. Brian Johnson = johnsbri)) and the password that is used to log-in to their school computers.
Elementary students’ passwords consist of their student numbers followed by the first four letters of their teachers’ last names (first letter of teacher last name is capitalized (i.e 12345678John).
Secondary students’ passwords are unique to each student, and you can obtain this information from your child.
