Board Calls Bond Election to Meet Growth in the District
Early voting for the 2025 bond election is right around the corner. The projects in this bond proposal will impact every student and every campus in Celina ISD. Voters will have a chance to make their voices heard on this bond and everything else on the ballot when early voting opens on Tuesday, April 22nd.
The projects in the 2025 Bond are based on the suggestions of the 48-member Bond Steering Committee. The committee, comprised of students, staff, families, and community leaders, spent months closely examining Celina ISD’s current and future needs. The committee's findings reflect our community’s strong commitment to students.
All of the proposals on the bond serve to address Celina’s exponential growth. Our community is growing at an unprecedented rate, with an average of more than 800 people moving here each month. Celina ISD's enrollment is projected to almost triple in size by 2030 and quadruple in size in the next decade. This population boom will push every CISD campus to or beyond capacity within just three years.
The projects in the bond also call for renovations and additions to the original Celina High School structure and provide for updates at every Celina ISD campus. The proposal also includes technology, transportation, and safety and security upgrades. All of the projects proposed by the Bond Steering Committee can be funded with the District’s existing tax rate, and 100% of bond dollars are not subject to state recapture and will stay in Celina ISD.
The bond proposal will appear on the ballot for voter approval this May. Election Day is Saturday, May 3rd, and early voting begins on Tuesday, April 22nd.

Student Device Updates
In recognition of the efforts from Moore Middle School, Celina High School, student pilot programs, stakeholders, and the valuable feedback that reinforced the transition to Chromebooks, students in grades 5 through 11 will return their iPads. They will then receive Chromebooks to take home for the summer in May, at their designated campus times.
Approved 2025-26 Elementary Attendance Zones
As our school district expands, and as we add more facilities annually to meet the needs of our growing community, adjustments to school boundaries will be ongoing. School attendance zones are based on residential addresses.
During the March Regular Board Meeting, the CISD Board approved elementary school boundaries for 2025-26 school year reflective of the opening of CISD’s fifth elementary school, Margie Moore Vasquez Elementary School.
In bringing a recommendation to the Board, CISD leadership presented a proposal to the Board at the Regular February Board Meeting. After receiving feedback from the Board, the District solicited feedback from the community, including online submissions from families as well as in-person feedback during a community forum at Martin Elementary on Thursday, March 5. After reviewing all feedback and demographic data, District administration made a final recommendation to the Board, which was approved by unanimous decision.
For students currently enrolled in centralized Special Education Programs on any elementary campus:
All programs are being reviewed to ensure students continue to receive individualized services on campuses closest to their homes;
Families will receive individualized communication by the end of April regarding any shift in campus program placement;
Transportation services will be continued for students according to their IEP.
For students currently enrolled at Martin ES who live within the Vasquez attendance zone:
Fourth-grade students currently enrolled and attending Martin Elementary School may remain for their fifth-grade year during the 2025-2026 school year;
Siblings of these rising fourth-grade students will attend Vasquez ES;
District transportation will not be provided for qualified fourth-grade students who elect to stay at Martin for fifth grade.
