Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! It is with great pleasure that I serve as your Principal of Castle Park Middle School. I am honored to continue the work of ensuring that Castle Park Middle maximizes all Knights’ potential as we strive for excellence. We are excited for what this school year holds for our students and school community. We are deeply committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that nurtures the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student.

First Day of School: Wednesday, July 19th
Students return to school, Wednesday, July 19th. We will be on a Minimum Day schedule (Bell B). School will begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 1:05 p.m. Signs will be posted around campus with each student's first period class listed. Students will report to first period where they will receive their student schedule. We will have staff available throughout the campus guiding and helping students with finding their classes during the day.
Access to Student Schedules
On Tuesday, July 18th, student schedules will be available in the Student Campus Portal through Infinite Campus. Click link below for the Campus Portal site.
Please be aware that while you may have access to your student schedule, we are continuing to work on classes and your schedule may change prior to the first day of school. Please make sure you check your schedule on Wednesday morning for a more accurate schedule or wait to receive your schedule during Period 1 on the first day of school.
California Universal Meal Program in Schools
California is the first state to provide free meals to ALL students, regardless of income. All students may receive one breakfast and one lunch meal for free. Students will need their Student ID number to get their free meal. If your child would like an additional meal, they will need to pay for the second serving.
Student Registration
If you have not provided proof of residency and/or immunization records, you have until August 30 to submit these documents. After August 30, if your child is still missing the required documentation, they will be dropped from our enrollment. Please take time to complete the process. Information can be found on our website or below regarding what is required. If you have questions, please contact our registrar, Alejandra Romero at alejandra.romero@sweetwaterschools.org.
Safety Protocols for Visiting our Campus
All visitors will need to present a valid government ID to enter or pick up a student during the school hours. This is a safety protocol at all schools and we appreciate your support and cooperation with ensuring our school safety.
Cell Phone Policy
In order to create the best learning environment for our students, students are not permitted to have cell phones at school. This includes during the before and after school program, breaks, and class time. If student violates this policy and a cell phone rings or is seen by a staff member, the phone will be confiscated and turned in to the main office. Cell phones must be picked up by a parent or guardian.
Please refer to the Cell Phone Policy linked below for information regarding this policy.

As our educational partner, we ask that your students attend school daily and on time, make the most of their educational opportunities and engage in school activities, act appropriately, and communicate with their teachers when they have a question or concern. Our teachers will be sending out contact and course information during the first two weeks of school. Let's have an incredible school year. Our teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff are here to help in any way we can to ensure that our Castle Park students are successful.
I eagerly look forward to the start of the school year and the opportunity to work alongside our staff, students, and families. If you have any questions or ideas you would like to share, please do not hesitate to reach out. Together, we will continue to make Castle Park School the place where all Knights want to be.
Sincerely,
Nina Hermosillo, Principal
