Thanksgiving Spirit Days
In the Spirit Winter Music Concert
Our 4th - 6th grade holiday music concert was a huge success. Students sounded and looked fantastic! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and thank you Mrs. Taormina and our students on a job well done.
Kiwanis Food Drive
Our Walt Disney students and families collected a whopping 1,793 canned goods and items for the Clinton Valley Kiwanis Thanksgiving Food Drive! WOW! With the help and guidance of our amazing Stu-Co Reps, we were able to collect, count, and pack up all of the meal items for families in need.
Congratulations to Mrs. Hammer's 4th Grade class who brought in a total of 372 cans! Student Council will be sponsoring a pizza arty for your class! Thank you to everyone for your donations!
The can food drive was a huge success thanks to our amazing student council members and our Disney families. Many thanks to all for your generous support!
Education Benefits Form
Even though meals are free for everyone, it is still important for your household to complete the below online Education Benefits Form. This form is critical in determining the amount of money that our district receives from a variety of state and federal supplemental programs. It could also help your family qualify for additional benefits.
We are asking that you please complete and submit the Education Benefits Form as soon as possible. All information on the report submitted is confidential, and it should take only a few minutes to complete. An email was sent from the District with your childs student ID number.

PTO Holiday Shop is Coming!
🎄✨ Calling All Holiday Shop Volunteers ✨🎄
It's almost time for the Holiday Shop! The kids love this event but in order for it to be successful we need volunteers to help it run smoothly. We will be running the shop Monday December 2nd through Friday December 6th. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or looking to help for the first time, there are plenty of ways to get involved! Below you will find the sign up link if you would like to volunteer to help make this event successful. Please remember you must have your background paperwork in 48 hours prior to the event to get cleared for working in the school.
Information about shopping including the shop link for item preview, gift card purchase, etc was sent home this week. You can find a preview and purchase gift cards here.
Learning Mode Change
Switch from Virtual to Face-to-Face Learning
At this time, families are able to request to change the learning mode for their student(s) for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year. Students who are currently attending school in-person can switch to virtual, and students who are enrolled in virtual can switch to in-person. If you do not wish to switch your child’s learning mode, no action is necessary.
Requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Submitting the form linked below does not guarantee a request will be granted. Requests will be reviewed by building and district leadership and the parent/guardian will be notified. If approved, the change will be effective for the second semester (January 6, 2025 - June 6, 2025).
Please carefully consider this semester-long commitment before submitting this application, as requests to change during the second semester will not be granted. However, the District may change your child’s learning mode if appropriate academic progress is not met throughout the semester.
This application will close on December 16th. You will be notified by the District of your child’s application status and specific information will be provided about the switch.
If you are interested in changing your child’s learning mode for the second semester, please fill out this application. You will need to submit one request for each student.
Dress for the Weather
Ready or Not, the Cold Weather is Coming...
Please be sure to send your child to school dressed for the weather each day. Before we know it, students will start needing warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and/or boots daily throughout the fall/winter.
Please take time to label each and every item- because our lost and found gets bombarded with lost winter accessories throughout the season
Please note that, per Board Policy, we will be having outdoor morning lineup and heading outdoors for our 20 minute recess(es) if the windchill is 10+ degrees.
Time outdoors is time well spent for kids, in all seasons
Lots and Found
Our lost & found is overflowing. Items will be outside placed the office/media center this week for students to reclaim items. Items remaining on Tuesday, November 26th will be donated to goodwill. Please encourage your child to check for missing items.
Holiday Assistance
Disney Families in Need
We want to be sure that our own families in need have access to items collected from our upcoming Canned Food Drive and Giving Tree Drive, along with other items that are often donated by community organizations.
If your family is experiencing any type of hardship this winter and could benefit from being a recipient of items collected, please complete the below form to let us know and we'll reach out to you if any items are available.
A Note of Gratitude
During the month of November, Disney teachers and students are reflecting on what we are grateful for. We would love to hear from our valued families and community about what and who you are grateful for at Disney Elementary School.
Please take a brief moment to express your gratitude to our amazing staff by completing the google form below. Your words of appreciation go a long way with our staff and make a great impact on our climate and culture. Thank you! :)
Parking Lot Reminders
We all know that the Disney parking lot is challenging at times, especially during the colder months. We understand that our dismissal can be stressful and intense with the high volume of car pickup students. From time to time it is important to review our procedures. If we all follow our parking lot procedures and practice patience, we will be able to quickly exit everyone safely. Below are a few important reminders:
- For everyone's safety, please try to utilize the pickup line whenever possible to avoid walking through traffic in the parking lot.
- Please refrain from parking anywhere other than designated parking spaces, this includes, parking in handicapped parking spots unless your handicap parking pass is properly displayed.
- Please do not pull through the parking spaces to exit. Those parking should back out of parking spaces and utilize the thru traffic line to exit the parking lot.
- Please turn right on Kelly when exiting the parking lot for safety and to help assist with traffic flow.
- The driveway in the front of the school is for bus parking, emergency vehicles, and exiting traffic only. Please do not park or drop-off/pick-up students in the bus loop. Families may not park on Kelly and walk through the bus driveway at dismissal.
- Smoking and pets are not permitted on school grounds. Please leave your pets at home for the safety and comfort of all of our students and families.
Thank you for your support in keeping our community safe in our parking lots.
Canvas Parent Account
All Fraser classroom teachers provide instruction, resources, activities, and assessments to students utilizing the Canvas Learning Management System. As a result, students have continuous access to the course materials and information regarding their achievement.
Parents/Guardians can also have continuous access to their student’s course materials and grades in Canvas by creating a parent/observer account. In addition, parents of multiple students can easily switch between their students to view grades and assignments within the same parent account.
Parents can use Canvas to
Contact their child’s teacher
View grades, due dates, and events
See, and in many cases access, what the child is doing at school
Support an absent student
View classroom and building announcements
And more!
For the first step you will need to have two devices (tablet, laptop, computer or phone) available to be paired. One device will be used to log into your student’s canvas account. The other will be used to create your parent canvas account.
For parents/guardians of students whom are in young fives through 2nd Grade:
A QR code of your students’ username and password will have been sent home. Use your camera function to scan the QR code to access your student’s Canvas Account. If you are having issues with the QR code, contact your teacher or elementary media tech.

To log in as your student, go to this website (preferably in Chrome, but Safari is okay):

Health Guidance for School
We want to partner with our families to make our school a safe, healthy and welcoming environment for your students. Make sure to send your child to school if they are generally healthy and able to participate in their usual day-to-day activities. Avoid keeping children at home unless they are too sick to participate. We have put together this helpful chart of when to keep your child home and when they can return to school for common illnesses
