Principals Message
This week I visited all Lincoln classes to read and shared a very important message. October is anti-bullying month and throughout this month I will challenge Lincoln students to be thoughtful and extend themselves in a variety of ways. This week we asked all students to make friends with someone you don’t know at school. This morning I asked students to do the following, Challenge Others To Be Kind!
Make kindness go viral with an act of kindness and challenge friends and classmates to pay it forward with their acts of kindness. Make a video of everyone doing acts of kindness and share it with me. We'll add it to our Twitter feed or Facebook page.

Halloween Parties
Students are excited about the upcoming Halloween festivities. As always, parents are welcome to spectate around the outside of the school as classes parade around. We ask that only those parents that have signed up to help with the parties join us afterward. Our classrooms get crowded quickly, and we want to make sure our room parents are able to manage the activities they have so carefully planned for students.
Parent-Teacher conferences
Parents are now able to access Pick-A-Time, our online conference sign-up site. Parent-Teacher conferences are an important time to discuss your child’s academic and social/emotional progress. As a classroom teacher, I found that connecting with parents at conference time helped me better meet the needs of each individual child and gave me a clearer perspective on who they were as learners. Please sign up to meet with your child’s teacher during this important time.
Veterans Day Assembly
This year Lincoln will celebrate Veteran's Day on Monday, November 12th! Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor American veterans of all wars. Many of us know or have known men and women in our families or friends who have served in the armed forces to defend our country. This year we would like to take time to honor these individuals by acknowledging their time served and to honor them at an assembly beginning at 9:00 am on that day.
If your child has someone in your family, or a friend of your family, who they would like to honor we are asking you to complete the attached flyer and include a photo. These will be posted in the school entrance hallway as recognition of their service, this way we can honor those Veteran's near and far.
