Bella Voce
On Friday, October 25th, Stockdale's Advanced Treble Choir, Bella Voce, participated in the Westmont Choral Festival in Santa Barbara. They got to perform in three beautiful halls, receive feedback from Westmont Music professors, ask questions about college planning, and witness other advanced groups from Southern California schools. The evening culminated with one large concert, the final piece being a combined performance of a new choral work by Westmont Director Dr. Daniel Gee. Bella Voce was distinguished at this festival by being the only ensemble from Kern High, and being the only all-treble ensemble. Stockdale was also proudly represented when our own student, Karen Martinez, was selected among hundreds of singers to perform the opening solo of the final piece! Our girls had a great day of bonding, singing and expanding horizons.

Girls Varsity, JV and Frosh/Soph teams as well as Boys Varsity and JV teams

Stockdale Alumni
Cameron Keene, a 2022 Stockdale graduate, is currently in his Junior year at West Point. This semester he was chosen to attend the Saint-Cyr Military Academy, founded by Napoleon Bonaparte, in Brittany, France. All his coursework is in French and although his coursework is difficult, the French he learned at Stockdale has served him well. While in France, Cameron has visited Paris, Mont St. Michel, the Pyrenees Mountains, and Normandy. Best wishes to Cameron as he finishes his tour of study in France. You make us proud!
ACADEC
Acadec was proud to represent Mustang Country in our first county-wide competition on November 19th. We hosted West and Frontier and competed in subjects ranging from Art and Music to Economics and Math. These kids put in so much time and effort, and it shows. Their coaches, Gaby Scully and Blake Bastain, are honored to work with these amazing students!
PLTW: Human Body Systems
Second year PLTW Biomed students have spent the last week studying brain anatomy and physiology. Part of their research included brain mapping technology, focusing on which actions, emotions, personality traits, and functions are controlled by specific regions of the brain. Their brain dissection allowed them "map" these functions on a specimen to visualize where each of these functions are controlled.
