We invite families to join us for a fun-filled, enriching experience at the Main Site, where we will provide educational support, creative enrichment activities, and plenty of opportunities for children to grow and thrive. Our summer program runs from July 7th to August 22nd and offers a safe, engaging environment for students to continue learning and making lasting memories.

Hello, families!

We’re excited to share some wonderful news from our PreK classroom! This month, our young learners have been diving into the fascinating world of plant and butterfly science 🌿🦋. They’ve been engaging in hands-on activities that introduce them to the life cycles of plants and butterflies, helping them observe and appreciate the beauty of nature right around us.

To bring their learning to life, we’ve been taking nature walks in our school garden 🌳, where the children have spotted colorful birds, new flowers blooming, and even a few early signs of butterfly activity. It's been amazing to see their excitement as they make new discoveries each day!

As the season continues, we’re looking forward to even more outdoor adventures and new discoveries together!

Also, don't forget about our Parents and Caregiver Appreciation Event on May 9th 🎉. Be sure to connect with your child’s teacher for the timing and details so you can join us for this special celebration!

Hello, Afterschool families!

April has been a month full of excitement and fun at the Main Site! We kicked off the month with a fun-filled egg hunt, and during our TGIF outing, we had a blast visiting the Queens Museum via the 7 train 🚉. Our students also got hands-on for Earth Day, where they made water filters, created recycling posters, and even built bird feeders—all while learning the importance of taking care of our planet 🌍.

Looking ahead to May, we’re excited to celebrate Cinco de Mayo 🎉, Memorial Day, and most importantly, our parents and caregivers during our Appreciation Event on May 9th. It’s going to be a great month, filled with opportunities to honor our community and share in the joy of learning.

As we move through the final stretch of the school year, there’s so much excitement in the air! 🌸✨ May brings new opportunities, and we want to make sure you’re up to date with all the important happenings. We’re gearing up for a wonderful end to the school year, and we can’t wait to share everything we have in store!

First up, please note that the last day of afterschool will be Friday, June 13th 🗓. If you applied for the Summer Rising program, you should have received your offer letters. Please make sure to log in to the MySchools portal to either accept or decline your child’s seat by May 8th. If this is not completed, unfortunately, your child’s spot may be forfeited, so don’t forget to check your status!

We’re also looking forward to May 29th, when our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade families are invited to join us for a fun and creative Arts & Crafts Day 🎨! Come join your child for a hands-on activity, and create something beautiful together. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, and more details will be sent out through ClassDojo. It’s going to be a day full of creativity and fun!

As we head into state testing season, we want to send our best wishes to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders as they wrap up their ELA & Math State Tests 📚✏️. You’ve been working hard, and we know you’ll do your best. Good luck—we believe in you!

We’re also excited to welcome Jason Oliva to the PS280 team! 🎉 Jason has been working closely with our 4th and 5th grade students at 82nd Street Academics, and we’re so thrilled to see the wonderful ideas he’ll bring to our students. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome!

Dear 82nd Street Families,

Happy Spring to you all! 🌷🌞

As we begin to wrap up the school year, there’s still so much excitement ahead! The month of May is shaping up to be a busy and fun-filled time for our students at Hunters Point Community Middle School (HPCMS)!

We’ll kick off the month with an exciting home volleyball game featuring our very own Emerald Knights 🏐💚—come cheer them on and show your support! At the same time, our dedicated 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be busy with their ELA and Math state tests 📚✏️. We know they’ll do great!

In preparation for the upcoming Regents exams in June, our 8th graders will also take mock Regents exams. This will help them feel confident and ready for the official exams next month. Our 6th graders will have a unique opportunity to engage in a hands-on science project as they head to the watershed to release the trout they’ve been raising in class 🐟🌊. What a fantastic way to wrap up the year!

There’s plenty of fun ahead, too! Our 6th and 7th graders will be celebrating with a spring dance 💃🎉, and we’re excited for the Spring Music Concert 🎶, where our talented students will showcase their musical abilities. To make it even more special, there will be a special trip for our young musicians connected to the concert!

It’s going to be a joyful and memorable month as we head into the final stretch of the school year. Thank you for your continued support, and let’s make May a month to remember! 🌟

Hello REN1 Families!

We’re excited to share the fun and engaging activities we have planned for the month of May! Our students will be diving into creative and cultural experiences that will make this month truly special.

During the week of May 5th, we’ll celebrate Mother’s Day with a fun Arts & Crafts activity, where students will create beautiful gifts for the amazing moms in their lives! 🌸💖 We’ll also be honoring Cinco de Mayo with exciting activities to explore and celebrate Mexican culture, so get ready for some colorful, festive fun! 🎉

On May 14th at 5:30 PM, we invite you to join us for the 5th Grade Musical Theater Disney Boot Camp Performance 🎭🌟! Our talented 5th graders have been working hard, and we can’t wait for you to see the magic they’ve created. Be sure to check out the flyer attached for more details, and mark your calendars—you won’t want to miss this fantastic performance!
