Welcome:
Letter From The CEO:
Welcome to May, the month when the school year ends and our Summer Learning begins.
Everyone from birth on up is able to participate in Summer Learning. Kids and teens can pick up their reading/project logs toward the end of May. They will set their own reading goals or project goals for the summer, and as they meet their goals they can earn prizes from the treasure chest or tickets to enter the end-of-summer prize drawing. Reading time starts at the end of this month!
Mark your calendars for our weekly events too. Family Summer Learning Events will be held every Wednesday at 2:00 starting in June. Since we’re low on gathering space here at the library, those events will be held in the auditorium at the New Freedom Outreach Center, 250 Mountain Avenue. There’s plenty of parking in their lot behind the building also. Teen/Tween Summer Learning Events will be held every Thursday at 2:00 starting in June in the community room at the library. Family events are drop-in, but we do ask that teens and tweens register for their events so that we have enough supplies.
Adults, we didn’t forget about you. Adults can pick up their punch-cards beginning at the end of this month. Every four books you read fills a punch-card, and you get two drawing tickets, one for the weekly prize drawing and one for the end-of-summer prize drawing. Summer Learning is for everyone.
Happy reading!
Amie P.
Library CEO
