Below are links to Spelling Bee word lists. Families of participants, please read the following, carefully:
Students should study their grade-level word list in preparation for the Spelling Bee. These are the same word lists students were studying for the in-class Spelling Bee.
If students have exhausted their grade-level word list, they should move on to the next two grade-level word lists. If they've exhausted those, they should study the School Spelling Bee Word List (the first link below); this is a NEW list that is being provided; again. Students may also choose to review the spelling list that is one grade below level.
Please note these are recommended study lists; be aware that your child may get a word that he/she has not seen before or is not familiar with at the Spelling Bee. The idea behind providing recommended lists is that your child will have mastered the basics of spelling conventions and be well prepared for the School Bee, if they've studied the recommended lists.
We ask parents to please remember that the objective of the Spelling Bee is to engage our students in a fun, competitive school-wide event that supports literacy and language building. There are very strict rules when it comes to Spelling Bees and that apply when players are eliminated. Unfortunately, these can be very difficult to reconcile, especially when a student misspells a word that we are sure he/she knew, but just stuttered or misspelled out of nervousness or some other factor. We completely abide by the Scripps Spelling Bee procedures and rules. Please note that all decisions of the judges are final. At the same time, we use this event to teach our learners about sportsmanship, the power of experience, being a Risk-taker, and finding the good/benefit in all situations. We hope our parent community will support us in this effort.
Parents and families of our Spelling Bee participants are invited to attend the Spelling Bee, in person at the school. We may live stream the Spelling Bee for the rest of our community; this will be confirmed and announced with a Zoom link. Also, an RSVP will be sent out to the families of participants. If there is more capacity, we may open more in-person audience spaces; again, this information will be shared as we understand what attendance will look like after the families of participants RSVP.
Bake Sale-this Friday!
In addition to bake sale items, art kits, hot chocolate jars, and hot chocolate will be on sale!

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Nadia Janjua will be offering an Art Masterclass here at Tarbiyah Academy. The class is also open to the general public, so if you would like to invite family and friends, please share the link.
Please see the link below for registration and a detailed description of the class.
Kindly note the class is an hour and a half and will run on a slightly different schedule than ECAs. It will be held on Wednesdays from 4:15 to 5:45 pm, from January 25th to April 5th. During Ramadan, the timings will change to 3:45 to 5:15 p.m.
