Competition Comes to Room 612
A new competition has taken hold of students enrolled in math teacher Hileman's Math 2 and financial literacy classes. Hileman is challenging his students to face off using Khan Academy’s Learnstorm.
Horsepower Coffee
Students enrolled in Ag Business have started their own business: Horsepower Coffee. As the name implies, it is a student-run business that provides coffee to the staff members of both Minarets High School and Chawanakee Unified.

Boo! It's Candy Season
Key Club supports UNICEF each year by selling Boo Grams, which a small bag of candy with a note that is delivered on Halloween during 8th period. You can purchase these spooky treats until Oct. 30 during lunch up at the blue tables for $1.00 each.

Going 10,000 feet up on a Friday
Huffing and puffing, lugging all of their equipment, the Minarets Glissaders club triumphantly reached Eagle Lake on Friday, Oct. 4. The Glissaders conquered a 2,500-foot ascent in 3.6 miles, through a winding trail full of switchbacks, ending in a final rocky scramble.

Kicking off the Boys' Soccer Season
The soccer season is fast approaching and our school is ready for a good fight! With English teacher Michael Vaughan returning as Varsity Boys Soccer Coach, it is sure to be a great year.
Football Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Pink filled the Minarets High School stadium on Oct. 4, 2019 for the football game against Parlier. It was the annual pink out game so everyone, including players, cheerleaders, and fans wore pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Volleyball at the Nike Tournament of Champions!
The Minarets Varsity Volleyball team left on Oct. 2, for their five day trip to attend the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix, Arizona. The team was invited last Spring to attend the tournament and had been fundraising and preparing for eight months.

Mark Your Calendars: PTSD and Anxiety Awareness
PTSD and Anxiety Awareness will be coming to Minarets on Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 through the organization of senior Alexandria Corkins.
Student Feature: Hunter Ahrens
The Minarets Ag Shop is now the proud owner of a new group of welding booths custom-made by a student at the school. Senior Hunter Ahrens is a four-year participant of the Ag Mechanics program and he has just completed a year and a half of work on something he’s very passionate about.
Volleyball Fights Brain Cancer in Annual Dig Grey Event
Brain cancer is an ongoing problem that not many speak about. So, in 2017, Minarets alumni Miranda Shockley and Julie Castleman started Dig Grey to help raise awareness of this cause. Dig Grey is now an annual volleyball game hosted by Minarets’ volleyball team,

The Minarets Art department exemplifies the ability of young and creative artists of all different styles, supporting them and giving them opportunities to grow, learn, and gives them a platform to showcase their passions.
Art Students Hit the Trail
The art program, one of the many crown jewels of Minarets, has wrapped up another successful year at the annual Sierra Art Trails, a multi-location art show that showcases local artists.
