Capstone Panelists Needed
A Message from Ms. Smith
Hello! I am the AP Capstone-Research teacher at CLHS, and I am doing my annual request for community panelists. For those unfamiliar, AP Research students work on a year-long independent research project, complete with a research proposal and IRB, and then they spend the year collecting data and delving into scholarly conversation. They then wrote/are writing a 5,000-word paper, complete with a literature review, methods section, data section, and discussion section. The paper, to be submitted to the College Board, makes up 75% of their AP score. The other 25% of their AP score is a 20-minute presentation and oral defense in front of a panel of community members. I am actively looking for volunteers to serve on one of this year’s panels – I will have 6 panels lasting approximately 3 hours each, and each panel requires 3 community members. The presentations will be Friday, April 19; Monday, April 22; and Tuesday, April 23. A panelist would need to come in at their assigned time (a 3-hour chunk), watch the student presentations, and then ask a question from a list of College Board-approved questions. Once the presentation is officially over, panelists are more than welcome to ask more questions/engage in conversation with the student about their project. If you are interested, please fill out the form (blue button link below) by Monday, April 15th. On April 15th, I will then reach out to you with a panel assignment that fits your availability. Thank you so much for your interest, and feel free to email any questions to esmith3@ccisd.net.

They continue their fight for the state title on Tuesday night at Freedom Field in Alvin ISD against Brazoswood at 6 pm. Come out and cheer them on to VICTORY!
Our Falcon Boy's Soccer Team finished a fantastic season on Tuesday night in their playoff run against Alief Taylor. We may have come up one goal short of round 2, but no one out-classed our Falcons. The highlight of the night was our boys immediately leaving the field and applauding their parents and supporters. Thank you for a great season!

Anonymous Alerts
CCISD continues to implement and improve upon our anonymous system for reporting safety concerns. These concerns can include safety violations on campus, threats, harassment, bullying and self-harm. Because Clear Lake High School's safety is dependent upon every member of our community, if you see or hear of something that concerns you, we ask you to tell a trusted adult so they can report it or submit your concern using the Anonymous Alert system.
When submitting concerns, please make sure that you report all information (names, descriptions, location, time, etc.) to help with a quick response. We investigate every tip submitted.
For expeditious reporting, we ask that parents and students load the app on your phones (QR codes below). Reports can be made anonymously by using the blue button link below. QR codes for reporting are also posted year-round on the rotating announcement TVs in the hallways on campus.
