New Class Schedule for 2022-2023
Friday Early Release Schedule is returning to CHECHS
Please review the daily class time schedule linked below.
CHECHS students attend classes on a block schedule to accommodate both high school and college courses. In the block schedule students meet the required minutes.
This year we will return to the Friday early release:
- allows students to complete required service learning hours
- allows students to spend time during the week studying and completing assignments
- allows CHECHS teachers to collaborate
- allows CHECHS teachers to conduct team meetings and parent conferences to support students
Transportation Update
We are working with transportation to provide transportation whenever CHECHS is in session. When we have the details, we will post on our website and include in the newsletter.
A draft schedule is posted below to give you an idea of what a typical transportation day may look like.
Beginning in September we will have a late bus available on Tuesdays and Thursdays to accommodate after-school tutorials and club meetings which run until 4:30.
Important Information for 9th Grade and New Students
San Jacinto College Technology Guide (see attachment below)
The Technology Guide will assist all students who are new in accessing their SOS account, G#, college email account, and Dual Credit courses in Blackboard.
Claim Your SOS Account
New students at Clear Horizons must claim their SOS account before accessing any other online tools. Use the attached Technology Guide from San Jacinto College. This is not something that parents can do for their student because security questions will be set up based on the student’s answers.
SOS Log-in Credentials
Please keep a copy of your SOS log-in credentials. You will need this log-in information on Wednesday, August 16th, when you meet with the Dual Credit Coordinators.
College Email
All students have been provided with a college email account. This email is your official method of communication with San Jacinto College faculty and staff. Refer to instructions in the SJC Technology Guide to set up your SJC Email account. For more information, visit https://www.sanjac.edu/email
Technology Assistance: Webpage
If you cannot access your account, you will need assistance from San Jacinto College Tech Support. Please refer to the resources at this web site for assistance: https://www.sanjacits.org/students.
Technology Assistance: Phone & Email
For further assistance, please contact San Jacinto Tech Support at (281) 998-6137 or TechSupport@sjcd.edu.

Please reach out to our Freshman/Sophomore Counselor if you have any difficulty claiming your SOS account. Mrs. Chaudhry can be reached by phone at 281-284-3484 or by email at schaudhry@ccisd.net.
9th and New Students First Day!
All CCISD ninth graders and new to CHECHS students will start school on Tuesday, August 16. You will report to Advisory at 8:00 am and be given activities for the day.
New District IP Days will shift for CHECHS students
For the 2022-2023 School year, there will no longer be Late Start Days each month. Instead the District moved to IP (Instructional Planning Days). On these days students will not have school and teachers will be participating in collaborative professional learning and planning. To accommodate the CHECHS students and their San Jac classes, CHECHS IP dates will be shifted to the Friday before the CCISD IP day. This will prevent students from having to find their own transportation to San Jac classes and will still allow them a day off while teachers collaborate.
We are still working with transportation and will provide updates ASAP.
The first scheduled IP day for CHECHS is Friday 9/16.
CHECHS Cares
As we get closer to the start of school many are filled with excitement and some may even feel anxious. We want to assure all families that we are here to support students and families each day. Please don't ever hesitate to reach out to the school main office with questions or concerns. 281-929-4657.
CHECHS Counselor's Corner
School counselors are the first line of defense in identifying and addressing student social/emotional needs within the school setting. Our counselors are trained in helping students with social/emotional concerns that may present an obstacle to academic success. Counselors advocate for emotional well-being of students by providing school wide lessons that enhance awareness of mental health. They are available to meet with students and are easily accessible. Students can reach out to their counselor by:
- Requesting an appointment either via email or utilizing the online Request to See Counselor QR code;
- Walk-in to the counselor’s office due to our open-door policy;
- Parents are welcome to email the counselor with any concerns.
The counselors work closely with the CHECHS Staff to provide the following school-wide activities:
- Character lessons delivered through advisory class;
- Monday CHECH-in activity during advisory;
- Feel-Good Friday activities throughout the year to promote emotional wellness and practice mindfulness;
- Working with staff to build connections with students and build a culture of cultivating relationships.
Contact our Counselors:
Ms. Sutphin 11th-12th Grade
Ms. Chaudhry, 9th-10th Grade
School Supplies
There is not a standard supply list for CHECHS students. In general students need pens/pencils/paper/notebooks. High school and college teachers may have a preference for certain items and those items will be communicated in the first days of classes.
Back to School Forms Open NOW
All Coyote families should complete the online registration forms in Skyward Family Access before the 1st day of school.
If you need assistance uploading a Proof of Residency or have questions about other online forms, we will have stations available for your convenience at our Back to School event on Aug 9th.
New Non-Emergency Contact Form: New this year, parents will have the option to add individuals as "non-emergency" contacts. These contacts listed in your child's Skyward will have access to check your student out of school. In the past Emergency Contacts may have been used for this purpose. Moving forward Emergency Contacts will only be used in the case of an emergency when the parent/guardian cannot be reached. Please consider adding individuals with permission to pick up your student as a non-emergency contact even if they are listed as an emergency contact as well.
