A Message from Our Principal
Dear Farnham Families,
I hope this message finds you well! It has been an incredible time on our campus, filled with exciting learning opportunities and engaging activities that make Farnham such a special place.
Our fifth graders are currently off on an adventure of a lifetime at Science Camp, where they are exploring nature and building memories that will last forever. A huge thank you to our Home and School Club for their generous support in making this experience possible!
Meanwhile, our first and second graders have been diving into the voting process in a fun and tasty way—by casting votes for their favorite cookies! This hands-on activity has sparked curiosity and taught valuable lessons about civic engagement.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting events you won’t want to miss:
- Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day: Join us next Thursday as we honor Ruby Bridges’ bravery and celebrate inclusivity by walking to school together.
- Family Movie Night: Grab your blankets and chairs for an evening of fun next Friday. Let’s come together as a community for a memorable movie night.
Lastly, a reminder that report cards will go home on Friday, November 15th. Please take time to review your child’s progress and celebrate their hard work.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in all that makes Farnham exceptional. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
Be well,
Amy O’Hehir
Principal, Farnham Elementary

RUBY BRIDGES WALK TO SCHOOL DAY - THURS, NOV 14
We’re excited to invite you and your child to participate in our Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day on November 14th. This day honors Ruby Bridges, a courageous young girl who, at just six years old, became a national symbol of resilience and justice as she integrated an all-white elementary school in New Orleans in 1960. Her bravery continues to inspire generations to stand up for fairness, inclusivity, and equal rights.
Why We’re Walking:
This event is more than just a walk; it's a celebration of the power of young people to make a positive change. By participating, students can reflect on Ruby’s journey and the values of kindness, respect, and courage that she represents.
Details for the Day:
Meet-Up Time: 7:50 am
Meeting Location: Houge Park Tennis Courts
Who: All Farnham students and families/parents
What to Bring: Please make sure your child has comfortable walking shoes.
Event: We will be walking from Houge Park to Farnham Elementary School and then around the back playground area. (If participating, please monitor and walk with your child.)
After the walk, students will engage in discussions and activities in class to deepen their understanding of Ruby Bridges' legacy and the importance of inclusivity in our school community.
We hope you can join us in this special event to walk together in the spirit of courage, unity, and hope for a brighter future!
A NOTE FROM YOUR HSC BOARD:
As we enter into November, the HSC Board would like to take a moment and thank all of the volunteers who continue to help support all of our activities!
Our next Movie Night is happening November 15, and the kids will be voting between Despicable Me 4 and Wonka soon! Hope to see you there.
