That our student faith retreat this week is with Jon Bauer, an award winning musical artist.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in 2002, Jon began his teaching career in an elementary school in St. Albert. Integrating music into his daily routine and sharing his faith with his students, Jon had no idea of the incredible journey that God had in store for him over the next 22 years.

In his early years of teaching, Jon was celebrated for his exceptional talent in using music to connect students with God. This talent earned him a nomination for the Edwin Parr Award and an Excellence in Teaching Award. However, after a few years, Jon began to see new opportunities as God opened doors for him to share his musical gifts beyond his classroom, reaching other schools and churches around the globe.

Since 2005, Jon has embraced his calling as a recording artist, releasing seven albums and touring full-time throughout the world. He has shared the love of Christ in hundreds of schools, educator conferences, churches and on stages throughout North America, Europe, and Asia each year.
