Course selection for the 2025-26 school year is upon us!
All students, grades 9-11, will be scheduled to meet with their school counselor to discuss their course requests for the next school year, as well as their post secondary plans. The meetings will be between Feb 3- March 14. Parents are invited to attend if they wish. Dr. Djang sent all parents an email with directions on how to schedule a meeting. If you do not wish to attend this meeting, you do not need to do anything.
FAFSA
Help with FAFSA;
Please access this guide for information pertaining to completing the FAFSA as well as any questions related to the FAFSA.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YNfyVMXxXIHg-AexZIq5QgfdTt60QvLg/view?usp= If you have a particular question, you can:
Call the FAFSA hotline at 1 800-4-FED-AID (800-433-3243)
Access the Federal Student Aid website studentaid.gov for chat, call or e-mail info. The first F in “FAFSA” stands for “FREE!” While there are numerous websites where students can get help filing the FAFSA® form for a fee, these sites are not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education (ED). We urge you to not pay for assistance that is provided for free at ED’s website, studentaid.gov.
Other resources:
Calculating Cost – Families can estimate the cost of various colleges via the Net Price Calculator (NPC) at collegecost.ed.gov and use the Student Aid Index (SAI) provided by College Board to get an estimated SAI.
Create a StudentAid.gov Account prior to completing the FAFSA application. For dependent students, one parent needs to also create an StudentAid.gov account.

Volunteers Needed for UMHS HSA
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The UMHS Home and School Association (HSA) is in search of a few volunteers looking to get more involved in the school and hold a position on the UMHS-HSA Executive Board next year (2025-2026). All but one member of our current board will be leaving this year, as they have graduating seniors. We are specifically looking for a treasurer, secretary, and co-president. It would be wonderful to find parents/guardians of incoming 9th graders or 10th graders, so you could potentially keep the position for a few years.
The HSA at the high school level has less of a time commitment compared to the lower schools. We only have three meetings per year (October, February, and May). Our main mission is to support the teachers through mini-grants, the students through Senior Scholarships, and support various community events through fundraising efforts.
If you would like more information about what the UMHS-HSA does, or what your role would require on the executive board if you joined, please reach out to us at UMHighschoolHSA@gmail.com.
We would greatly appreciate your support and would love to see some new faces join us.
Thank you for your consideration.
Danielle Hendrickson- Co-President
Chris Purich- Co-President
Jessica Mason- Treasurer
Alison Jones- Secretary
