Good Monday to All!
As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I am very thankful to have the opportunity to join the Uvalde CISD team. Thanksgiving is a time of gratitude and reflection to focus on the good in our lives and remain hopeful of what is yet to come. I am sending each of you a sincere word of thanks and my warmest wishes for a happy and safe holiday celebration with your loved ones.
I would like to express my appreciation for the continued warm welcome and support from our school administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and community members. Your commitment to our students' educational experience is evident. I am grateful for what I have seen among our staff in striving to ensure an engaging and supportive learning environment for our students. It is clear to me we are a student-centered school community.
This time of year is dedicated to reflection and being thankful for what we have, overcome, and have to look forward to. We are all experiencing changes this year. Thanksgiving will have a different look and feel for many of our families this year. We must never forget the loss, and I encourage us all to hold up and encourage the students and children in our lives this Thanksgiving season. I am most grateful to serve this district's students and appreciate your support.
Be inspired by the season of giving with acts of kindness and graciousness. I wish you health and peace this Thanksgiving. Please take care in your travels.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

On Monday, November 14, an intimate and private Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held at Uvalde Elementary to allow the opportunity to express our appreciation and gratitude for the new playground. The guests of honor included Kompan representatives Steve Rouch, Kompan Regional Sales Manager and Max Ruiz, Sales Rep to include Uvalde CISD PTO Executive Officers, Katie Laffere, PTO Treasurer, Laura Downing, PTO Secretary, and Jill Foster, PTO Parliamentarian.
Kompan representatives were gifted with framed pictures of the playground with student signatures. It was a cold and wet morning warmed by the smiles of children and heartfelt words of gratitude.
Robotics
Two robotics teams represented our district over the weekend, FTC Morales Team and the FTC Robotics 2 High School Team. MJH finished 3 and Uvalde High School finished 7, this was the first of 4 events to build league ranking for the end of the season in February. Both teams showed great problem solving skills, and sportsmanship throughout the event; building connections with the other teams in the league. The experience provided the teams with areas of focus to polish before the next event on December 10, at Brentwood Middle School.
Congratulations UHS Region Choir Singers...
Uvalde High School Region Choir singers represent our district with Coyote Pride! Joel Ibarra made pre-area and sang with the Region Small School Choir. (He is pictured in the bottom left.)
